XZIBIT’S NEW ALBUM UNDERRATED & OVERLOOKED THROUGH KENDRICK HYPE

http://blog.weserious.com/?p=188

Seriously, peoples. Xzibit just dropped a great album with his latest release, “Napalm”… a true banger that slaps front-to-back. Are we going to sit here and act like it never happened? X to the Z is a certified west coast legend in the game, one of the greatest to ever do it, and he just gave us his best album in over a decade..
I’m beginning to wonder if the Kendrick Lamar hype is so overwhelming that most rap fans have completely overlooked Xzibit’s return? Don’t get me wrong, Kendrick Lamar dropped a really good conceptual album, and it’s nice to see the west finally get some proper shine, but can Xzibit please get his? This shit right here is the go. But this shit right here only sold 3,200 in its first week…. In comparison, Kendrick is projected to sell 245,000 copies in his first week with “good kid m.A.A.d city”! That difference is truly mind-boggling. Obviously, Xzibit’s album didn’t get the same promotion, hype, and financial backing as Kendrick got with Interscope/Aftermath, but X has paid his dues and undeniably deserves better recognition. Especially after coming with an LP of this caliber.
This is that authentic west coast sound that can’t be fucked with. You can tell by listening that an honest effort was put into the making of the music, which is refreshing in todays day and age, to say the least. The production-value is extremely high (especially for an independent release) and the flows are on point, as Xzibit gets deep as ever, painting vivid pictures with his thought-provoking lyricism over hard hitting beats, guaranteed to fuck your eardrums. Definitely much better than Xzibit’s last few albums, and I’d probably go as far as sayin’ album of the year. Stand-out tracks are “1983″, “Killers Remorse”, “Louis XIII”, “Dos Equise”, “Movie”, “Gangsta Gangsta”…fuck it, the whole album is one big highlight. FINAL RATING: 8/10

YES !  I thought i was the only one who noticed ! i got X's album and i thought the same thing ! i got kendrick's album too and i dont belive the hype . and when i say i dont belive the hype i mean i dont think its a classic its good but not classic and i actually like X's album better then kendrick's nothing against kendrick but i just been waiting for X to come out with an album for so long and it was worth the wait

i heard this came out but i didnt listen to it till now. im listening to it right now and this is way better than his previous albums. i love it. every single song is amazing so far and im only like 5 songs into it.

x to the z dropped an album???!!!!

It's actually pretty dope. I suggest everyone at least listen to it once thru.

How can you tell if an album is a classic a week after its been released? LOL classics stand the test of time and they are relived 20 years down  the line. Kendrick lamar dropped a gem imo. Hes really a throwback type of artist. Not in terms of style but the way he talks about certain things and how hes able to incorporate the vein and the conscious subject matter all on one single track (i.e. outkast, pac, scarface, wu tang ect....) Hes able to connect with casual listeners as well as hiphop heads. What may seem like a simple track about revenge ,pussy and money really turns into a track about todays society and the social ills of an entire younger generation without getting preachy or monotonous. He does this perfectly on so many tracks. X to the z's album is good but no where near the type of level that GKMC is on. In my opinion of course

^everyone knew "2001" was classic the day Dr. Dre dropped it..u can usually tell if an album has classic potential after the first couple spins

I remember when that dropped along with the first chronic, no one said anything about either of them being ” classic” aside from the source, everyone just had the albums and were listening to them constantly, kinda like GKMC

Xzibit was a fucking cornball on "Pimp My Ride" and got butthurt that his goofball face was a popular meme, so whatever.

Duke...i dunno where ur from, but out in cali, the general consensus on both Chronic cd's was that they were classics the day peeps slapped them in their rides.

you lost all credibility when you said "peeps slapped them in their rides"

im not sure if i understood you right but i didnt say it was a classic ? if thats what you thought i was saying but yeah thats what ive been telling everyone you gotta wait and see 10 20 years from now if people still playing the album
