“There’s a place that I don’t often go with ¡MAYDAY!’s music because it’s a group atmosphere and we head towards more widespread themes, but when I’m doing a solo project, I tend to go very autobiographical and the records cross the realm of how personal they get to me. It’s definitely just way closer to the heart in terms of personal topics and things that I can speak on that are affecting me and not just everybody else.
This is another way of me really trying to show that I can’t really be confined to one style and that I have multiple tools that I use in music.” -Wrekonize

Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 3, 2013 at 12:44am I appreciate the respect. I made a Rittz thread. I won't make one for Ces Cru though.

Yeah it does seem funny that a Wrek thread would go up before a Rittz considering Rittz not only drops first but has alot of anticipation and deserves the hype.
I actually felt like putting up an official Rittz LATOJV thread but figured Alex was the man when it came tithe official release topics..didn't wanna like..step on toes lol
But seriously we should get that thread goin because he needs alot more exposure on what he's done already. And considering Lynch's hype has about peaked and Tech will dominate the board next month I think it's equally important in my humble opinion that we get one goin for Wrek and Rittz right about now.
On a separate note I'm more interested in anything that Supahotbeats is doin above all other producers right now.
Between Growin up in the Gutter,When j was High,Trunk Muzik and the sneak peaks were gettn on YouTube for Trinidad James and The Return of Trunk Muzik..this guy is like my new favorite producer.
I watched in interview he did how he explains he's just trying to go for the Hugest cleanest production possible and while I watched he just seemed so in tune like he just had that gift. Reminded me of a new Dr Dre. Really looking forward to anything he's doin.

Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 3, 2013 at 3:02pm I wouldn't keep the Ces Cru thread up to date. They are shooting a new video it's called Shake It Up. It's just a pain in the ass to scroll through all the twitters and search the web.

Alex bro you got to make one for Ces!! Lol just Playin. I think you may be gettin a lil overworked and underpaid at this point but it really means alot to the board. You da man.
You should get that wolf avatar guy to do one for Ces. He's pretty good lol
Also at Mathews I agree I don't think Wrek is the 2nd best on Strange either. I think that Leo Getz track was a prime example of that. But when I actually gave Him a chance i was really feelin how dude can rap his ass off AND can sing. Dudes mad talented and I was really surprised when I heard him rip on Thrift Store Halos, which I thought was mad underrated when compared to their debut which IMO was super overrated.
Anyways think it was smart for Wrek and Strange to do a solo. He's got a real smooth feel. Makes me want to play his music on a sunny day at the beach or something. Looking very much forward to this release. Very fucking happy with Strange for 2013
Permalink Reply by roxanne on February 4, 2013 at 3:50am I'll defiantly keep my eye on this thread as i'm a huge fan of wrek and mayday and have been watching every move they make ^_^ having just got his recent mixtape i was quite surprised it was free but can't complain since it was ridiculously awesome and am waiting like crazy for this new ablum to come out and if it's set back a little would be completely understandable considering how hard he and mayday work.
Permalink Reply by Chief on February 4, 2013 at 2:39pm The way opinions work is interesting because for me I think Wrek might be my favorite artist to listen to right now. I'm still anticipating Tech, and Krizz's albums more than i am Wrek's solo album. But in my opinion Wrekonize is the most well balanced artist. He might not be as good at rapping as Tech N9ne is and he might not be as good at singing as Krizz Kaliko is. But he fits somewhere perfectly in between the two.

First off lemme just say thanks to Alex for booting up the thread for my project. I've dropped in to these boards from time to time to see what the vibe is regarding the material of my own and my fellow strange artists but i've never actually joined and posted. Figured this thread would be a good one to start on. It's been a personal mission of mine to release a nationally distributed album for as long as I can remember. Waaaay before I joined ¡MAYDAY!. I got to experience a lot of the gratification i'd been seeking with "Take Me To Your Leader". Seeing that album on the shelf in a store is an amazing thing. Especially as seeing that with retailers shrinking their music sections those days feel less and less.
I asked Strange to push my album back slightly because my original release date was a week after Tech's. I didn't want my project to compete with the freaking K.O.D! Ever try to race a cheetah??? not a good idea. At least pushing it back a few weeks felt like the right thing to do considering. 6/4 is not a big gap but at least it's something. I been working with some really dope producers and i'm chasing some really dope features for the project. I'm doing my best to make it sound like what you guys have come to enjoy from my previous material and also to make sure the album doesn't sound like a mayday project without Bernz.
I truly hope you enjoy it and I just wanted to come up on here and say me and all the brothers in ¡MAYDAY! appreciate the feedback both positive and negative, and we appreciate the love y'all show us on here. I'm a fan of everything strange puts out so thanks for always keeping the board littered with the current info. Sometimes i find new shit out about my own projects here....hahaha.....
Anyway once again....
Much respect to y'all and thank you for the support....

I didn't give you guys a chance when you first signed to strange. Saw you guys rock out on 90shows/90 days tour and
gained respect but still didn't listen to your music. I just want to say thank you for dropping smash and grab, and the rooftops mixtapes for free because I decided to give them a chance and loved em. I can't stop playing smash and grab love the baauer sample in barricade. Anyway before I sound like a groupie keep up the good work... you have a new fan..
