“There’s a place that I don’t often go with ¡MAYDAY!’s music because it’s a group atmosphere and we head towards more widespread themes, but when I’m doing a solo project, I tend to go very autobiographical and the records cross the realm of how personal they get to me. It’s definitely just way closer to the heart in terms of personal topics and things that I can speak on that are affecting me and not just everybody else.

This is another way of me really trying to show that I can’t really be confined to one style and that I have multiple tools that I use in music.” -Wrekonize

If it's gonna be in stores everywhere, I wonder if he'll be getting help pushing the LP from other sources or sinking his own money into its promotion. Not to sound like a dick, but its very unlike the label to do this and almost disrespectful to those who may be a little more deserving. I think Wrek is the best MC on Strange, but someone who's put in more work at the label should be getting the added promotion. This is also gonna be very close to the Mayday album release, so will one be pushed more than the other?

Also, too funny that a thread has already been made. When's one for Rittz going up????

This won't be as promoted as the other albums. Mayday and Wrekonize have a good fan base outside of Strange Music and they are good at generating their own promotion. I'm not sure if this will help or hurt Mayday sales. It might do neither. I figured someone would make a thread for Rittz. It gets to be a pain in the ass updating all these threads. I'll have a Rittz one soon.

Shot for the updates bro, you put alot of time into these threads! Look forward to this release.

I like Wrekonize. Hes probably one of the top 5 best rappers on Strange.
Im just hoping he keeps that shit dope. June 5th is my birthday, so this might just be my present.

so it's "Due in June"? Fitting

How does a Wrek solo album cut into MAYDAY sales? MAYDAY has fans, MAYDAY has haters and then there are the ignorant who just don't know MAYDAY yet, if anything a Wrek solo album helps MAYDAY b/c somebody may hear Wrek and buy MAYDAY b/c of it...

As far as promotion, it's not like Tech does commercials so how does he promote himself any more than any particular artist? He promotes them all equally on HERE and on YouTube and leaves it to each artist to promote themselves through their own Faebook, Twitter and Websites so Wrek will promote the hell out of his own shit in his own way and he and Plex will both promote MAYDAY and all will be well in the world.

When Tech N9ne has an album coming out dude has billboards and plentyyyy of magazine ads. If you're an avid fan of Strange Music, then you have to recognize that Tech gets promoted above and before all others on Strange.

Only because, 1 he sells more than all the other artists, and 2 its HIS label. Lol

I can see that, I don't really read much printed media anymore so I guess I would miss the extra promotion anyway but I'm still old school and think a big part of promotion is touring and building a following and artists have so much more at their disposal with social media so even if Tech is seen as being cheap (they are running a business, and they aren't a "major" yet so...) each artist has tools available to them. Strange is still growing and evolving too so it's not like years ago when they were seen as not promoting Skatterman and Snug Brim, now each artist can be promoted while also promoting themselves in multiple ways...and the YouTube channel is great, for me any video is better than no video so I don't really care how much money Tech does or doesn't spend on a given video, what matters is they're putting out content, FREE content, all to promote their artists...so no matter what, Strange IS promoting each artist as much as that artist wants to be promoted, they have to put in the work too, MAYDAY and Ces have their own networks, they have people, that's why I think JL and Snow are a good fit b/c they already have their own people, their own promotion, Tech wants go-getters who are going to work their asses off to promote themselves and bring people to Strange, and in turn Strange will then give them a platform to deliver their message to a wider audience....stoner ramble over, lol, point is you get what you put in, it's not ALL on Tech. Stevie Stone, MAYDAY, Ces, they work their asses off, they tour, they make videos, they interact with fans on Facebook, they make radio appearances, what more promotion do they need?

Yeah it does seem funny that a Wrek thread would go up before a Rittz considering Rittz not only drops first but has alot of anticipation and deserves the hype.
I actually felt like putting up an official Rittz LATOJV thread but figured Alex was the man when it came tithe official release topics..didn't wanna like..step on toes lol
But seriously we should get that thread goin because he needs alot more exposure on what he's done already. And considering Lynch's hype has about peaked and Tech will dominate the board next month I think it's equally important in my humble opinion that we get one goin for Wrek and Rittz right about now.
On a separate note I'm more interested in anything that Supahotbeats is doin above all other producers right now.
Between Growin up in the Gutter,When j was High,Trunk Muzik and the sneak peaks were gettn on YouTube for Trinidad James and The Return of Trunk Muzik..this guy is like my new favorite producer.
I watched in interview he did how he explains he's just trying to go for the Hugest cleanest production possible and while I watched he just seemed so in tune like he just had that gift. Reminded me of a new Dr Dre. Really looking forward to anything he's doin.

I am just amazed at the amount of info alex gets on these threads good job man keeps me informed

Thanks man.

More like easily number 2.

IMO Wrekonize is the second best rapper on strange, and the second best singer on strange. Behind you know who and you know the other one as well.
