they both from the MO so ppl compaire them or be like oooh u from nelly's state.. tech doing his thang just like top artist why nobody aint called..there.

Nelly had a line is his song were he said one on one you couldn't hold me if your last name was Haynes.The only way you wear me out is stich my name on your pants.I don't think it was aimed at Tech but people always compare Tech and Nelly so Tech said his grandmas last name is Haynes so Im guessing he is refering to that but I don't know completely what he means but basicly probably sayin he could smash Nelly which he could do for sure.

oh ok...but still doesn't make sense to me as to why....i dont think it was bcuz he could smash nelly, and i havent really heard about them being compared cuz they both from mo...but idk anymore than u so damn

in nellys song he is talking about the underwear company hanes but in why u aint call me tech is talkin bout nellys actual last name which is haines (i guess insinuating that they could be related),,,just thought id throw that out there

And in the song Come Gangsta he says "Stop me, and then try and tell me (Come gangsta)
And then compare me to Nelly (What ya bang bra)" pretty sure those are the right lyrics.

It would have been such an easier task for me up to this point if I would have got on one of those classic albums, but I'm ballin' now, and I'm better than I was ever, so thank you, but no thanks. It's cool.

from what i understand techs moms maiden name is haynes. theres some kind of family link between tech and nelly because thats his last name i think. i think tech might have some family in st. louis. the verse basicly means that he and nelly are family but he still dosent get love from him

yeah Nelly's name is Cornell Haynes, Maybe Nelly has asked Tech before? possible relation?
