its because major tobacco companies pay off gov. officials so they have max profits and its legal in washington and colorado

Cigarettes will never be made illegal. They pretend that they're taxing tobacco in order to prevent people from smoking, but they're only doing that because they know people will still pay 12 dollars a day for a pack of cigarettes. 75% of the price in NY is strictly tax. So if you buy a $10 pack in NY, after the tax those cigarettes only cost $2.50.

I feel most "drugs" that are already legal will never become illegal. Prohibition doesn't work. Never has, never will.

Maybe where you live. In New Zealand they plan to have them illegal by 2020. It's already illegal to smoke in in-door work places like any bar or restaurant here, the next thing they're going to roll out is making it illegal to smoke cigarettes in your car. And then by 2020 illegal full stop. They want to "ween" smokers off them by increasing the price to a completely unaffordable price, it already costs $30 to get a pouch of tobacco, and they're gradually increasing it until it reaches $100 and then illegal. So smoking will be made illegal, just maybe not were you live. NZ.. always ahead of the game v_v

we have smoking restrictions in certain places too. as for NZ, you guys are too happy of a country to need anyone to smoke anyways v_v

^^ the legalization of recreational marijuana was passed in washington and starting december 6 you are allowed to carry up to an ounce on your person. Eventually it will probably be sold in state controlled stores, u cant smoke it in public

They have introduced a bill that would require feds to respect state law.  also they have urged the feds to acknowledge the vote (which they havent done yet) to determine how they're going to approach it.  currently the banks wont deal with that industry due to it being federally illegal, and the IRS dicks em hard too.  so hopefully, they will revise their current policies and we can have a legitimate weed industry.
