You Realize Major Label Artists Get Fuck all off record sales...a Majority less than 8% Not to Mention Signing Bonuses aren't Really Bonuses They are just Advances You Pay it all back when you make money with your CD or Tour... If You get your chance to since major labels run so Many damn artists You'll be Lucky if they Let you put a new album out every year and a half Two Years (or Even Fully ControlWhat Goes on it) Or Tour For More than a Week..... So Lets Recap This You'd Rather Have LESS Awesome CD's LESS Often, Spend A Fuck of alot more On Concert tickets and even more If You don't Live near the Bigger Cities They will goto instead of little towns...ok
Doesn't Sound Good to Me.... It would Be More reasonable if he was just some artist signed to a Label... but He Owns 50% of a Already Successful Record Company... Plus Who Knows WHat other Investments Outside of music they have made... Some Years Down the Road Strange Music WILL Be a Major Label, And as Long as They Stick with their Shit and only sign Dope Artists Than the Mainstream will be saved....My Only Worry is When Tech And Trav Kick The Bucket and Someone else is left to run SM....

Permalink Reply by Your Local_Ghetto Superman on June 29, 2011 at 2:41pm yeas i agree with you. i don't think brad knows how much the industry controls "mainstream" media. and in order to be successful in the commercial world you have to sell your soul to the industries agenda. for example eminem is endorsed by name brand companies. i.e. in his two recent videos ther have been very noticeable product placements, with that watch he was wearing. you wont ever see tech posing in a photo shoot like em do. tech had his taste of that type of lime light and said na, that shit is to fake. paying people to spread your music?? F.T.I!!!! with a d-i-c-k. stuffed with Hennessey.
thats why i find it odd;
tech was homies with tupac in 1995?-96 and thats the same time tupac was sayin fuck dre(the industry) and started kickin it hard with the blood affiliates. then he was murdered, Imagen if he wouldn't have died tech an him would of killed the industry off in 2000, and we wouldn't have to go through all this bullshit music thats aloud to infect our radio nowadaze

Its not that Tech doesn't want to go mainstream its that he wants to do it on his own terms. That is an artist's continuous uphill battle, either sacrifice your music for the mainstream or keep doing your thing till the public notices. Would it kill him if he never reaches mainstream? Probably not, he is an artist like anyone else who wishes to keep making music the way he wants and get fans who appreciate it. Whether he reaches the spotlight or not, Tech is already living the dream.
