I'm not so sure I missed the point, I just addressed the issue with my opinion. I don't think I have a defeatist attitude, I just know what's coming. People have been desensitized to a point where the average American doesn't take action not their own hands. There is so much to blame and serious issues like this have the tendency to branch out into so many other problems. My personal life has taught me to just shut up and take care of myself. That may not be the right way to handle issues, but it works. I don't have hope in America and I believe that the end of the world is soon. Not any particular event or date, just my own view from watching what has transpired over time. There are some things where I choose to voice my opinion as fact, and I apologize for trying to push my opinions onto you, I can be hard-headed. I'll hold my views and let you voice yours, while the right is still ours to have. Who knows? You might just start a revolution.

Although it is disheartening to see you take a kick-into-gear approach and crumble instead of standing up and fighting for your rights, before they are all taken away, it's good to see in this case you were the minority which is great. The reason my thread is called what it is, is because Americans are seen as some of the most proud "do-it-for-my-country" people. You do not have to fall to pieces when somebody tells you to wake up. It may look like complaining/whining to you, but every time this video is liked/favourited/embeded/watched, more will happen. 780,000 people have already seen it in 2 days. Surely for the sake of you and your family you can look past your "I can't change anything" attitude.

SOPA is one of the most retarded bills ive heard of. The internet, and all the jobs/innovations coming from it, is one of the fastest growing things the world has seen for a while, and the Gov want to regulate it. Doesn't come as a suprise. I can understand the need, in this society, for it to be regulated, but in the internets case less would probably count for more. Make laws that carry over 'real world' laws onto the internet, while not hindering the creativity and innovation that it causes. But, i saw an article the other day where some 1000 year old tit in a suit was claiming 'Google is the King of Illegal Piracy'. The same people deciding whether to pass this law or not, are the same people that get to a website by typing it into google and have 10,000 toolbars, and think their computers slow because 'the internets must be clogged'.
