Agree. Just because an artist is mainstream doesn't mean they suck.

i think it has a little bit to do with sound because most of the mainstream seem to all have a very same or common sound and themes in their songs like weird techno beats and songs about party and drinking seem to be every mainstream song i hear, and there isnt anybody thats differs outside of that category.

so basically if you have that sound then you can be mainstream. if not then youll have a tough time like tech for the past 20 years.
