God, you people completely missed the point of this meme lol. I'm not saying it's the funniest thing out there but it completely went over your heads.

haha right.. i cant fuckin stand corporate mainstream influence in todays world. From music, to movies, to these fake ass stupid reality shows. Getting a grammy now has more to do with your likability, appearance and how you sell yourself to the public, rather than the actual quality of music that you are creating.

Some of the influential bands and mc's of all-time wouldnt even get a second look by record companies if they were starting out today

o.O I agree with everything u said, but that's still not the point of the meme lol. Before this turns into a big anti-mainstream thread I'll explain it. It's making fun of people who are anti-mainstream becuz it's cool to be, hipsters, etc., so the joke is, because Peter Pan never grew up it's like "lol, growing up is soooooo mainstream" it's like if there was a picture of Spiderman with glasses on 'n the caption said "walking is so mainstream" hope that clears everything up

i.e.

The idea of not liking mainstream media is too widely misrepresented as someone saying they are better than everyone rather than what they are actually doing, which is being an individual and liking what they truly believe to be great.

Anyone who calls everyday shit mainstream that is actually useful like ipods vs. walkmans are just fucking retards, therefore peter pan is just being a jackass

lol

You know... hipsters and all...

and on another note, this does apply to alot of you.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to classify music into "underground" and "mainstream" in order to/not appreciate it.

In conclusion, shoot heroin and ya eyes and play Jazz.
