Hey all, the album will be coming out tomorrow which I am very excited for, however I have not heard all the songs yet. So I would just like to know everyones input on the album. Either an overall album review or a track by track. Heres my review of the album... Thanks

Review

Stars: 8/10: The hook is pretty cool and I love the intro. I also enjoyed listening to the verses as they were both fast and medium paced. Overall a great start to the album.

Welcome to Strangeland: 7/10: This song is pretty cool as I loved the chorus and the music, it went quite well.

Unfair: 8.5/10: I was really excited for this song due to the teaser video. However, it didn't live up to the expectations I had. Although, it was a good song with great chorus but the verses were meh.

Kocky: 6/10: this song is just a bit weird. The verses were good but the chorus just ruined the song...

Who Do I Catch Now: 9/10: Awesome song, defiantly one of the top 3 of the whole album. The BET verse just flows so well and the chorus is catchy ;).

My Favourite: 7/10: The beat is really good, but the chorus is a bit weird at first, but it will soon grow in you.

Retrogression: 10/10: I my personal opinion, this song is the best in the whole album. The beat is very chill and everything is just about perfect about this song.

Bang Out: 8/10: This song by 816 Boyz is a lot more better than Pu Wah Wah on TGMP. The chorus is quite good and I love that chicks voice in the background during the chorus.

Beautiful Music: 8.5/10: Quite disappointed that this was a pre-order track and apart of the regular album. However this song is great, Krizz is awesome on the chorus.

Won't You Come Dirty: 9.5/10: Am I the only one that loves this song. The chorus is really good and I love the Darth Vadar breathing throughout the song.

Sad Cirus: 8/10: Song is good. Brotha Lynch Hung did great and tech did well aswell. Chorus is quite soothing.

The Noose: 8.5/10: This song is quite good due to its story about the troops. Another Mayday track which is a stand out of the album.

Slave: 9/10: The flow of this song is really good. The chorus done by Krizz again which is always a good thing. Also Kutt Calhoun did his verse very well.

Overwhelming: 10/10: Awesome song, I love everything about it, through the verses and chorus and even the so...so...so!

Gods: 9.5/10: The chorus is awesome. All the verses were great. Also this track i believe Tech stood out more.

Extra Tracks

I Need A Drink: 9/10: The best bonus track, such a catchy song. Also it was different too the whole album.

The Real Thing: 5/10: I tried my best to love this song, but i just cant stand her voice. It will soon grow onto me, but for now it become the worst song of the whole album.

EMJ: 8/10: This song is getting a lot of hate which i find very strange. I just love this song because most of the strange crew is on it. I also like the story behind it, which is true, right?

Road Rage: 7/10: This song is like the Stress Relief of WTSL. The song is ok, but nothing special.

Overall, I think this ablum is one of the best Tech N9ne Collabo album to date, just ahead of Sickology 101. As for best Tech N9ne album... hell no. Everready and All 6's and 7's are still my favourite Tech albums. Welcome to Strangeland is still a very good album as it has NO FILLERS, I never have to skip a song (maybe The Real Thing occasionally if I cant handle her voice). The album is full of top songs and has a better overall feeling compared to A6&7. I might add more stuff or change a few ratings as I listen to it more.

Welcome to Strangeland: 9/10

I'll be the first to do a track-by-track review

1. Stars - Absolutely love the verses 'n the hook just feels so otherworldly, beat isn't anything special but Tech 'n Krizz did a great job writing to it. 9.4/10

2. Welcome To Strangeland - Ehh, Krizz's verse was nothin' great, I like the hook though, it seems so playful, this albums "I Love Music", Tech's verse was alright, but it seemed scattered. Probably one of the weaker tracks on the album but it's hook will bring back listeners imo. 7.4/10

3. Unfair - Wow, what can I say, Tech's verse blew me away, 'n I suppose it wasn't lyrically stellar but the bumblebee tuna line had me rolling, when he speeds up for those 2 bars I was like "there he goes" 'n the coon lines, dope verse. I think Kaliko had the weakest verse but it didn't bring the track down for me, Ces Cru went hard, I forget which is which but the white one went in, like the multis in the hook too btw. 9.3/10

4. Kocky - Love Kaliko's hook, also love the intros saying who's in each song. Kutty's verse is dope, wasn't feeling Jay Rock's, sounded generic, but damn Tech with a verse that reminds me of the 2nd verse in He's A Mental Giant, but not quite as impressive. Still a good song though. 8.3

5. Who Do I Catch - Def in my top 3 of the album, Tech's solos always steal the show. Verses were awesome, love the hook, simple but stern. Glad to hear Tech keep moving forward instead of regressing. 9.6/10

6. My Favorite - Don't like this song, I love the flow all three of them use, Lynch being my favorite but the concept just won't resonate with me. Sorry 'n Shit. 7.3/10

7. Retrogression - Fuckin' love the whole song, this 'n The Noose have made me extremely anxious for MayDays first release on Strange 'n got me checking out their previous work. Another favorite. 9.6/10

8. Bang Out - Love the beat, Tech's verse was alright. loved Kutty's, those catfish lines had me rolling. Kaliko's was meh 'n I still skip Makzillas. Hook was simple but when compared to Pu Wah Wah it wasnt terrible. Overall I don't think it brings the album down but just plateaus it. 8.1/10

9. Beautiful Music - I think when you put this, Fuck Food and Girl Crazy together you can prove that sex songs don't all have to sound the same. Love the flows, beats good, love the hook. Strong, strong track, def single material. 9.5/10

10. Wont You Come Dirty - Honestly, hate Tech's verse, like the hook, really enjoyed Young Bleeds verse, one of my favorite guest verses actually. Stone's verse was ok I guess. Like the beat. 7.6/10

11. Sad Circus - A really nice Tech/Lynch only collab, Lynch's verse is heartfelt 'n really let's u know he doesn't want to leave Strange, Tech's verse is dope but Lynch steals the show. 8.9/10

12. The Noose - Amazing song, everybody brings it, Great message 'n it's funny cuz two songs in a row I think the guest shined, MayDay made this song completely, Tech was dope but I barely replay that song just for Tech's verse. 9.7/10

13. Slave - I feel like Slave will become a classic, the soul in this track is ridiculously awesome. Everyone killed it. 9.8/10

14. Overwhelming - The hook is incredible. Yeah the verses are a little slow 'n yeah it's content is practically identical to F.A.N.S. but I like it! But, because of it's repetitiveness I'll rate it lower. 9.3/10

15. Gods - Glad Kali brought a strong verse here, Kutty killed it too, 'n Tech does his thing, a strong finish but def not the best song. 9.1/10

Can't wait to hear the 3 other tracks, plus "Road Rage" 'n w/e else be available.

Where it stands? Out of Tech's Collabos, this probably would be my favorite. Out of all his albums, it's difficult becuz it's so unlike anything Tech has done to date, I'm sure this will grow on me 'n after a few months I'll be more accurate but as of right now it would go 1. Anghellic: Reparation 2. Absolute Power 3. All 6's And 7's 4. K.O.D. 5. Welcome To Strangeland 6. Anghellic 7. Sickology 101 8. Everready 9. MLK 10. Calm Before The Storm 11. Killer 12. Vintage Tech 13. The Worst 14. The Gates Mixed Plate

ill do one of these fancy shmancy song by song reviews if my preorder comes in today
I think it's by far the best 816 boys track. The beat is crazy.

I think it's a great album. There isn't a bad song on it. I think he is continuing to get better and better. I can't stand hearing Krizz on almost every hook. And the fact that the whole album took only a month to make just makes me think no heart was put into it. I'll agree with @ Pimpalicious Mc Dees Nuts, it all comes down to personal taste. Personally I like his new stuff more than the old. I think he is going to lose a lot of his older fans.
I honestly didn't like the Collabs all that much i think Collab wise My Favorite and Come Dirty were my favorite, I was expecting to here Stevie and Jay Rock in more than one song (even though they are on EMJ, This is an album review of what i got in the mail) and Young Bleed i wanted to see on more than one, i guess i'm getting tired of just Krizz Tech and Kutt, I like when they mix it up a bit, and i was also wanting to see Irv on some songs (once again more than just Road Rage),i was wanting to see a whole Strange Music song, kind of like Stranger from Cog's album, but everyone having a verse, and of course no Big Scoob :,( but overall the albums music was good i just thought the Collabs were a little weak for the first ever Strange Music Collab CD
if you love tech and you love strangemusic then youll love this album. a far as comparisons, id say that its not better than all 6s and 7s and its also not his best collabo. if you ask me the collabos go MLK then Gates then this album then sickology. but yea welcome to strangeland is dope as fuck
honestly i think it's an ok album nothing special.  I think some of you that think its his best album or his best collabos are fucking crazy. better than sickology 101? Wtf are you guys smoking, I even liked some songs on gmp better than this.

Well I think Sickology 101's best tracks were Sickology 101, Red Nose, Blown Away, In The Air, Far Away and Dysfunctional. But it had a lot of filler tracks "Creepin'" "Nothin'" "Party 'N Bullshit" "We Kixin' It", WTSL def pushed more boundaries 'n I think just had less "average" songs, I think people look at an album for their favorite songs more than every track, that's why I don't hold Everready so high like a lot of people do...

Retrogression, Who Do I Catch and Stars are my favorite tracks.

lol i dunno what Tyler was talking about, I think this album has some of the best hooks Strange has ever seen

And the majority thinks you're crazy. WTSL>Sickology>MLK>Gates.

Unfortunately, I completely agree with pretty much everything you just said.  I really haven't felt that he put his heart into his music since K.O.D.

All 6's and 7's didn't meet my expectations at all but this album i had my expectations set low and it didn't disappoint but, its far from his best album even far from his best collabo's album. For some reason i just don't get that same vibe from Tech's new music as i did his old stuff maybe it's personal taste, or i don't know if others feel the same way but Tech just isn't making songs that really touches you deeply or you can relate to anymore (the exception of The Noose). It's just less emotion I mean I just don't get the same vibe that his old shit had even his hard ass songs ain't got shit on einstein or riotmaker etc. I just think Tech's heart is not really in it no more, he's not as hungry as he used to be. If Tech drops another album like A6's and 7's or WTSL I might just stop listening to his new stuff, because it's just a mere fraction of how good his old music is.
