I did not find any info in the search bar about this. All you weed smokers, or people who follow politics should know about this important piece of legislation. July 23, 2011: Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011 or HR 2306 Introduced By congressman Ron Paul, would remove the schedule 1 label of marijuana, and make it a states decision on the drugs legal status. Prosecution from the federal government would only be allowed if an arrest was made to an individual transporting between to states borders. Contact your local representative and ecourage him to support HR 2306 today.

So what do you think? will the bill be passed? what are your thought on the bill? is there another way you would handle it? would it be beneficial for the drug to be legalized? i think this is a legitimate topic for political and general discussion...

YOU CAN READ THE FULL TEXT OF THE BILL HERE----

Now, I know some people on here dont agree with a lot of my political viewpoints.
Shout-out to Siikez ;)
But I think everyone will agree youre an uninformed bandwagon follower who latched on to the anti-government movement because it made you feel like a rebel. Well, I hate to break it to you, but no, the government would benefit. The reason this hasnt passed is because of its label as a drug and the fear of harm it could cause to people. I personally dont think its right to regulate anythin. Thats like making fast food illegal (which people are trying to do)

you need to check your info haha! yeah the government would benefit regulating weed but it will never happen they didnt declare the war on drugs for nothing

Anyone who says that the govt' couldnt control and regulate it is wrong. we would make alot more money. our prisons and jails are filled with non violent criminals, which is a waste of tax payer money. that money plus the profit they make of the distrubution and sale of marijuana, could go to things like schools, cure for cancer, etc. maybe finish some of the construction thats 4 years over when it was supposed to be done! but seriously. this would be beneficial. i dont understand why it has lasted this long. after looking at the prohibition of alcohol and how that failed, there is no significant evidence that this is more effective. it needs ended. now

"No income tax" doesn't mean "no taxes." It simply means the government wouldn't take money out of people's paychecks. There's other alternatives for collecting revenue, such as a national sales tax, to collect revenue proportional to consumption, and capital gains taxes, to collect revenue from dividends on investments.

Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security are all popular, but the movement to abolish them or drastically cut them is gaining a lot of strength, as shown by the rise in power of the Tea Party. Not saying it's an ideal solution, but, if the government were to abolish them, it could open to door to new replacement alternatives. Nobody's thought of anything close to an effective way to reform these three programs, so maybe starting from scratch could be a good idea. That's not really what Ron Paul is arguing for, but at least he might take us in the right direction.

Regardless, calling Ron Paul an idiot is not only an ad hominem attack, but completely incorrect. He is a medical doctor who received his M.D from Duke, one of the most effective grassroots fundraisers currently in the political community, and he predicted the bursting of the housing bubble back in 2002. You might not agree with his specific policy ideas, but at least he tries to shape his policies around the future as he sees it instead of the next election.

On another note, Ron Paul is an idiot. Explain how the US will work with 0% income tax. Explain how people will settle with the removal of Social Securty, Medicare and Medicaid, all of which are immensely popular?

I mean he has some great positions, but overall he's an idiot, because it's clear he doesn't have a real deep grasp on the issues. I give him props here though because he's fighting for something that makes sense

Ron paul is what this country needs. point blank period. who would do alot more than obama is doing, and if he didnt get the job done while he was in office, he would at least make progress. he would at least put forth effort and try. what has obama done thats significantly helped us? made it a little worse yes, you cant criticize someone on doing something that has never been done before, all our programs and policies dont work anyway so changing or removing them may be a good thing. we must try. if it aint broke dont fix it, ok, well you cant deny that there is something wrong with our govt, regardless. and this turns into more than an issue on legalizing marijuana. Our founding fathers are turning in their graves. we need change. and not obamas type of change, REAL change.
