When I read comments on youtube or whatnot people seem not to understand that there's a difference between lyrical and technical.
Lyrical: Expressing the writer's emotions in an imaginative and beautiful way.
You don't even have to rhyme to be lyrical.
Technical: Complex rhyme schemes, multi-syllable rhyming, etc. (This is not the actual definition but the direction.)
Now you know.
It is a Greek word coming from the musical instrument LYRA(ΛΥΡΑ),meaning sentimental expression. In ancient Greece lyrical poetry was a sort of poetry written to express feelings,Hymns for Gods, proud for victories, joy for matrimony etc
Expressing deep personal emotion
the dancer's lyrical performance
emotional (of more than usual emotion)
I'm having a tough time understanding why you people are upset or unenthused.
Here's some pieces of Greek poetry.
That's some LYRICAL shit ^.
Shane you are correct. There is a clear difference between the two. I'm not sure if it was thread worthy but you are right.
