I'm a little disappointed by the amount of bashing I've seen on both sides, although both sides have their views and points that they deem "correct" or w/e, like many have said, no one will know, so I'll just throw this out there that I'm atheist and GawgyG and others did a great job at defending atheism (although it couldve been done with less bashing) and i respect the Christians and religious people who came on here and defended their views, although I do not personally agree with them, it doesnt hurt me to admit that they might be right, but so could we, and so could every other religion out there, or even a religion thats not around yet lol, point is, believe what you want, Im going to believe what I want, dont bitch about it and I wont either, I'll gladly have an intellectual and mature debate with you about it, but other than that stfu and go back to bumpin' that N9na yermsane?

You do realize if you read the bible, we're currently in the book of Revelations, and it really is foretelling things.. like the twin towers. Look it up. Lol.

and that's not to bash you, just a hardcore fact. I myself don't believe in religion. I do have faith in a god, but religion itself is what gets people in trouble, not faith. it's people fighting over their specific religion against another that starts wars. Not faith. Let's say religion 1 has faith, but so does religion 2. It's not their faith that they're fighting over, it's their specific ideas about their particular god.Faith is a fantastic thing that has never brought about a war. But religion and differences in ideas have caused so much bloodshed that I believe it's time for everybody to realize that you're god isn't so different from somebody elses. every religion is correct and I think you should have faith in each and every one just as much as you do any other.

8. Religion is not law. It is an ethical guideline for people to live their lives by so that society can live in a civilzed manner. The stories are designed to teach a moral lession. Just like the ones from Greek, Rome, Aesop, Buddha, etc.

9. Who really gives a fuck what other people believe? If I want to teach my kids about ethics and morallity by introducing them to religion, how does that affect you? Does it effect you in any way that my mom prays before she goes to bed? Does it hurt you to listen to a prayer about people who have been hurt and killed? No, but a child who is not introduced to religion as a child is more likely to act unethically and have problems with the police as they get older. Not always but there was an actual study a couple years (and it was not done by the Vatican or some shit like that) that came to that conclusion. Who cares what people think? Ive seen a shitload of threads bashing religion on here but Ive never seen a thread bashing atheists. So who is really the cocky, arrogant, dumbasses here?

"And he waited a thousand ages for the response, alas to no avail." Sorry I'm channeling the spirit of Nostradamus, but yeah there is no direct reference to it. Revelations is an extremely symbolic and convoluted writing, may be true or not but basically nobody fully understands it all.
