I was wondering if there is a particular reason why tech's vocals are distorted over the whole track. It kind of ruins the song as a whole for me. I can understand that it might have been an artistic piece or a transition piece.

My real question I guess is if they did it because tech didn't sound right over the beat. Is that even possible for tech to not be capable of rapping over something or is there another reason?

to be honest i cant even listen to that whole song and that is rare from tech

how? it made boogieman what it is...it gives it that dark feeling..and on any other songs it jus help makes the song..

I rarely like any of the voice effects Tech does. It ruins songs, like Killing You. Shit pisses me off sounding like it's coming from a tin can.

I get the reasoning behind the voice effect but I think in Boogieman it's a bit of overkill. Sometimes the voice effects work, this, in my opinion, isn't the best example. I think it's cooler when tech manipulates his own voice instead of using some sort of filter.

i actually wondered about this too. but when I think about how Tech would sound with his normal voice insteda of the distortion, I think it fits with the track better. but maybe that's just coz i got used to it

No it didn't, it wasn't some specially super fancy voice changing software to give a dark vibe, he just lowered the pitch. Lowering the pitch of a voice has a crap effect on the quality and anybody who messes around with audio knows how weak it is. It ruined Techs verse in "Am I A Psycho?" as well, to be honest I skip Techs verse in that song.

I fucking love everything about this track. The beat is amazing and I think the vocal effects are crucial to the song. I was surprised to hear it, simply because I didn't think he would do it again after having already done it on 'T9X'. But with that said I think it fits perfectly.

I highly highly highly doubt Tech used it to cover up a fallacy, but instead used it to add to the eeriness of the track. But if you don't like it, you don't like it. Whatevs.

But I do agree that sometimes the vocal effects are bad, Killing You being a perfect example. I hate the effect they used in that song. It works on rare occasions, when its use is very limited. But fuck half a verse being ruined because of that shit.

Tbh, The Boogieman is probably my favorite track on A6A7. I listen to it the most for sure. The voice effects were perfect for the beat IMO. The only complaint I have is I wish Tech had more than 2 verses on it. It seemed like the chorus took up most of the song or something.

Meh. Songs not bad, but I wouldnt include it in my favorite songs from A6&7s

alll true
