Variety variety variety oh yeah unity would help too
When u turn on the radio u prolly hear the same track regurgitated
Over and over again or the new beef that hit
I like music from every side of the map
But I would like to hear everyside stand out when played back to back
Without all the bullshit just put it down know what I'm sayin

i think the south is one weakest music games out right now all they got is radio love and dance songs out for real im gettin sick of hearin it.. they need to put some good shit out on the radio.. ppl need to jus go back and rap bout how they feel and whats goin on not no bitch singin song.. all the money has gotten to alot of rappers heads..

Keepin It Strange
id have to disagree devil boy I think south thrives because most of them are unified
u just dont see a lot of em beefing over dumb shit. Shit i think it was either the b.e.t. awards
or the source awards a few years back and damn near every southern born hiphop artist went on stage.
There musta been a couple hundred of them and they straight up said 'its our time'.And fuck were they right.
Most of em will get down with any one onna track. Not to mention artists like bun b ,chamillionaire, scarface,
t.i.ludacris,outkast and whether some of us like to admit it or not lil wayne, are all certified spitters who bring something
different to the game. Now a lot of ppl have been hatin on lil wayne recently and id agree that he conformed with a lot of
his material latley but just look at his work ethic and his volume output. Its fuckin rediculous. Its hard for artist to stay consistent
for that long of time. So its natural we see a creative slump coming from him.A couple of years ago if any one said lil wayne
was wack that wouldve been considered blasphemy. But now ppl just focus on the present, the rap game is not known for being polite and forgiving. As far as for the content on the radio and mediocre albums being put out i blame that on the owners of radio stations and big record companies. They turned hiphop into a profession when it used to be a way of life.Even artists like icp
figured that out a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time ago.I know a lot of ppl love them simply for the fact that they say fuck the industry basically but what they are doing is cashing in on the industry inna a big fuckin way.theres is nothing more commercial then marketing
schemes including keychains, bumper stickers, there own logo, and the biggest one of all a fuckin soft drink. im not a fan but those 2 whiteboys are marketing geniuses. If a lot of artists did the same though there might not be a need to get signed to a major label.
then wed prolly see more of a variety on the radio.but untill that happens well prolly just keep hearing what ever the rich folks feel like feeding us
damn. sad but true.
Duke I agree that the south still has some good shit but Im more in agreement with devil boy. All the artits you mentioned were tight as hell at one time but Kast and Luda and them dudes aint even really doin much anymore. I love the music coming outta the south strictly for the beats. But I only bump the older stuff. Like Outkast, Dirty, three six mafia, and some older lil john. But now Im strictly Midwest. I love the shit Strange puts out. But I like other Midwest artists as well. Bone thugs, Twista, Atmosphere. etc. By the way, Atmosphere and Tech on the same stage at Paid Dues!!! Fuck yeah, that is gangsta.
artists that aint doing too much??? damn ludas" theatre of mind" ti's" paper trai"l and scarface's new album" emaritus"
and chamillionaire's last 4 mixtape messiahs are all quality albums that i didnt have to force myself to like .in my opinion. not to mention big boi and andre 3 stacks are both comin out with solo albums this year.to each's own i guess.

i have to agree w/ variety and unity.

the south has bad beef before, luda and t.i. paul and cham but the thing it shyt was resolved.

you have to understand with certain artist they have that dance single to get 'em on the radio, but the rest of their songs are hella good.

but you rap about what you know.that's why i love luda,he speaks on some real shyt but also has those party songs, same w/ the majority of southern rappers.paper trail was awesome,of course he had a bunch of singles on the radio, none of 'em compared to the rest of the songs.
I think the South is really strong!

-Young Jeezy (I love Jeezy's smooth flow, beats are sick and bumpin, and he's not a fan of the industry)

-T.I. (In jail but he'll be out in 2010 so no problem, his music is tight)

-Chamillionaire (I think he's raw!)

-Paul Wall (has a lot of haters but I'm a fan, he's smooth and really catchy)

-Young Buck (hardcore rapping style, he's dope)

-Lil Scrappy (aside from the radio hits, he's a damn good rapper!)

-Ludacris (used to be one of the best, pre-2006 album)

There's a lot more but those are ones I listen to on a regular basis
