IMO, this will be the breakthrough album for Tech, it's a shame that it will take all these features to do so, but I guess thats how society works, I cant think of anyone that deserves independant platinum status more than Tech, I will admit I was a little hesitant to get excited about having alot of mainstream artists on a Tech album but I have come to a relisation that this meens we will have a legit argument with MTV rapper fans that Tech was slept on all along, and we as OG fans can celebrate in knowing we beat everybody to the punch!!! Tech is about to join the short list of independant platinum selling artists!!

Well done Tech and good luck bro!

umm a mil is kinda pushing his luck but 500 K maybe it all depends on how much buzz and promotion they get going. wether or not they get on tv and all that. people got to find out about tech first before they will buy his ish. he's got a bunch of big names on this one so maybe thou

I don't see why you would say "Tech is about to join the short list of independent platinum selling artists" when the release of Killer marked his one millionth album sold, making him the first independent music artist to do so in history. Meaning Tech started the list and has already gone platinum. So in turn this thread becomes pretty ridiculous... Do some research bro.

RIAA Certification of 500,000 units: Gold album.
RIAA Certification of 1,000,000 units: Platinum album
RIAA Certification of 2,000,000 units: Multi-Platinum album
RIAA Certification of 10,000,000 units: Diamond album

i believe you are wrong. he sold 1,000,000 collectivly. all of his albums to that point. independent rappers are no where close to that shit.

After going back and watching those interviews again I found out that is indeed the case. I guess I remembered wrong, my bad.

...Okay, flame off.

I think this album will get closer him to this level and will get everyones attention.. then possiably the next album if he just does his thing without any features except strange and shit...
Rasta, I've noticed you have very smart things to say.  However,  I do think this has a chance, not only because of the features but he is getting bigger every day.  Lol I tell someone new everyday about how sick the album is gonna be.  Now yes, Matt is right Caribou Lou isn't gold yet, but it's close and even though I know MOST of us agree Everready might be the best rap album ever made, not a lot of people knew about Tech when it came out and now they don't really care about caribou lou or everready.  I mean I hate to say it but I didn't go buy it (caribou lou) again because 100k is still a lot of downloads.  Now I think 6's and 7's would go platinum easy with Eminem on it but as far as I can tell it's just hearsay whether he is gonna be on it or not.  I mean the dude has 30 million likes on Facebook, more than ANYONE.  Now whether Em is on it or not,  I'm going to buy the album for sure, maybe even twice, and yes I do pirate a lot of music, but I want this to go platinum SOOOO bad
I think it will be #1
Platinum? No. Gold's a stretch, actually. 500k? Took Tech like 3 years to sell half of that for Absolute Power. Now of course he's got a bigger name and fan base now compare to then, but in order to even get near gold, he's gonna have to 1) promote this album for awhile. Not drop it, do one tour after this upcoming one, and call it a wrap. That would be disappointing news for those waiting for Kabosh, but you can't just give arguably Tech's biggest record yet just a few months promo. 2) radio play. All these people talkin about Tech "blowin up" or "goin mainstream." He's gonna either need at least ong big HIT, or some decent radio play across the board. 3) more press. Someone actually get Tech on Kimmel or Fallon, for example. Bottom line: Gold isn't completely out of the realm for this album, but some really not usual shit is gonna have to happen for this one joint alone to sell 500k.
Everyone is right about the piracy, but in that case atleast everyone on this site can promise they're gonna buy it.  And I know people on here have lied before saying they buy all their shit thats bull.  Nobody, especially in this recession, can afford to buy all the music they listen to.  I didn't buy Gates Mixed Plate but I bought K.O.D. and the ones before and definetely going to pick this one up.  See iTunes is pretty good at advertising new albums so hopefully people that don't know him will see it on the charts and their homepage.
Honestly, it blows my mind that he's never gone gold and like I said piracy is huge so that's got a lot to do with it.  I ain't buying caribou lou again, I bought everready once and that was it.  And as far as radio play goes i'll be surprised if he doesn't get it with these collabs, of course they're not gonna play songs like T9X and stuff on the radio.  I mean unfortunately at least here in Colorado we have like maybe 3 rap stations and they all play like the top 3 rap songs and that's it so ya radio kinda blows.
