Now before I start I'll advise you that some of this material may offend you. I understand people idolize their favorite entertainers and a negative thought about them unthinkable. And if you can't handle it then don't read any further. You've been warned.
I figured I'd start with talking about "Sickology 101" sense I feel its where T9 started being lazy. It's a dope name, but the content doesn't suit it. Lets be completely honest, majority of the content on this album wasn't "sick" it was typical, recycled and boring. He talked about rapping good (Typical), partying and everything that goes with it (Typical), being different (Recycled), not getting mainstream invites (Recycle), and a few gems like "Dysfunctional" and "Far Away". All in all, a flat album. "But its a collabo album not a solo album dumbass!" If your thinking that keep your stupidity away from here and leave.
Next he had "K.O.D." Yes he had recycled content but I think this where he was his most creative. Too bad this would be his last burst of it.
Then he makes "Ollie Gates Mixed Plate." Now this album to me was just plain fucking stupid. Like a downgrade of "Sickology 101." Do any of you go back and listen to that album. I sure know I don't.
"Bad Season" was just a feeble attempt Tech N9ne did to get more popular. That album didn't even make his Wikipedia page. I never listen to that or listened to that. I mean I gave each track a chance but it sucked.
"All 6's and 7's" was made after that. This album to me was good at first until the beats wore off and I listened to the content. He had songs like "So Lonely" and well nothing I ever go back to listen to. What I really notice is Techs stepping towards a mainstream sound. "Killer" was a little mainstream but not enough to where I didn't like it. Then with each album he took small steps towards that mainstream feel. With the exception of "K.O.D." I don't know how it happened but it did and served me many songs of entertainment.
Then "Welcome to Strangeland" arrived. Now it should be clear that Tech N9ne slacking and rushing his songs. What's the point of many more albums but with many more faults. This was just another album with very few songs with any longevity.
"E.B.A.H." well I already know everyone wasn't pleased with this one. But "Boiling Point" seemed to turn everyone around even though it added almost nothing to Techs catalogue. One good song, maybe two tops.
Now he has "Something Else" coming out. And with the amount of time on it I'm expecting a pretty damn good album. Judging by the sampler I'm pretty disappointed. I was hoping he wouldn't go in that "All 6's and 7's" route but it would seem to be he is. His word play doesn't mean nothing to me if the content is boring.
Now I can go back to sitting on my couch, drinking my beverage, and watching re-runs of some boring show. Everything on T.V. seems to be boring in the morning. And I know this was very critical but I'm just in one of those moods.
Uhh fuck here we go again..... For one I considered taking it down because you people took such offense to it. I just used Tech as exhibit A. Two, the bitch in you came out as soon as I made this post. And its such a typical thing for you to insult me with "bitch". The sign of a man that's all out of any meaningful words. And don't tell me how to say my opinions about something, fuck off dick weed. Now I'm out of shit to say to you, leave.
I care if people are offended because offended people make the thread turn to crap. Bitch move? Bunch of time? What are you talking about? You weren't with me when I typed it. Quit making assumptions asshole. And yes, every time Tech releases an album he will get criticized for it. Should everyone be blind zombies and just love it? Funny you call me a bitch and then bitch neglecting to call yourself a bitch. I know I bitched but its a loose term to use for a criticizer. Its more like I gave vague reviews on the overall content of whatever Tech albums I mentioned. You don't have to bitch so much about it. I on the other hand will bitch at you until you leave, so leave.
PS: I basically said or pretty much just bluntly said Tech is repetitive. Your description of my post is off.
Well I cant. All artists eventually repeat. Eminem's been doing a good job at bringing new material. But I can't name another. It doesn't change anything though. A fan will eventually get bored of an artist. Does this mean I can't call him repetitive? I however will go back on slacking. Repetitive seems more appropriate. But can you answer that question?
PS: Then what are you saying?
I Never put words in your mouth as I put it in a form of question. As for Em you're right for the most part. But he still manages to keep his albums fresh because what you've mentioned alone is a lot of content to go off of. What if you did that for Tech N9ne? Take away partying, drugs, and women? That's 80% of his stuff (new stuff). Maybe this post will inspire him to make some crazy shit.
PS: But through this conversation you have put words in my mouth. What do you got to say about that?
I am quite aware Tech as rapped about a lot of stuff. But I clearly stated I was talking about his newer stuff. I do like Anghellic, Absolute Power, Everready, MLK, Killer, most EP's (Not EBAH) and lots of his unreleased stuff. Point being I like more then dark music. But you see all that stuff you were able to name off. What happened? That's all I was trying to say.
I understand that. And I still listen to some of his newer stuff. Its just the party songs are coming in greater number as times passes. I like stuff like "Unfair", "Slave", "Overwhelming" and "WWC". I like the way you put it though. Its like a chapter book.
PS: And no more abortions and thoughts of suicide is great. Less party songs would also be good.
lol one of those people. I like how the list you made is actually quite broad for content matter, but you decided to take it all out in an attempt to say Em has narrow subject matter.
Forget being offensive, on Relapse he had some storytelling tracks that were pulled off well ie Same Song and Dance, and Stay Wide Awake.
My Darling, Spacebound, 25 To Life, You're Never Over, Difficult, Love the Way You Lie are his more recent tracks that have aren't what you described.
But what about Mosh, We As Americans, Square Dance, with political themes to them? Like Toy Soldiers?
And again, why the FUCK you exclude his upbringing like he's not allowing to discuss that? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in an attempt to criticize an artist.
You can call him repetitive if you want, if that is your opinion my qualm with you from the beginning was associating the content with "Laziness" otherwise I don't have a problem with your opinion. What exactly has been so different about EM's content? He's dope but the reality is if you remove, his upbringing, mother, Kim, his kid, doing drugs and recovering from drugs and people's perception of his of the offensiveness of his lyrics what else is there?
Just like you said in your original post, you wanted to see who agrees with you. Now when someone that is knowledgeable in regard to your argument dabates you you start putting words in my mouth
