Chief said:I didn't like Harvey Dent or Jumpin' Jax Actually thoes are both rated Single Star on my iPhone My 2 Favorite songs on that album are Too Many Girls and After Party.
Jerm said:Yeah, Gates had "Far Out," "Loud," "KC Tea," "Need More Angels,""Harvey Dent" and even "Jumpin' Jax." All are decent to solid tracks. Jumpin' Jax didn't have any deep subject matter but Tech's flow on it was pretty sick. I was still a bit disapointed with Gates but considering you could still make a solid EP from it, it's quite a bit better than EBAH.
Chief said:Yeah, but even so i think everyone could find 1 track on that Album they enjoyed. I've always overlooked TGMP has a mix-tape feel rather than an album for me. I couldn't force myself to enjoy a single track off of EBAH.

I wouldn't say it is a gimmick...he released K.O.D and then wanted to make a laid back party album (which i love TGMP very much) and then people got pissed so he got pissed= seepage. and he will always have the personality of E.B.A.H so he must explain angel heart and its gonna be halloween...and the gift is that they are the leftover K.O.D. beats. Not that the fans peer pressured him into it. K.O.D beats are just the bonus.... the real shocker is gonna be the brand spankin new dark tracks that have the possibilty of occuring on his solo album in march!!! :)

I think Tech releases exactly what he wants when he wants, and has always had the fuck whatever ANYONE thinks mentality. Yes, he likes to please his fans but I don't think the "K.O.D. Collection" is a necessarily a reference to the album, more to Him being the King of Darkness himself. Like his way of letting us know its going to be the perfect Halloween compilation. He's always mixed darkness into all of his songs/EP's/albums, only ones that didn't really were Klusterfuk, which was mainly because Mayday produced it and it was written in 4 days, and was just personal stories, and The Gates Mixed Plate which was about partying, when he was feeling pretty strong spiritually. I thought E.B.A.H. was pretty damn good, sick beats, good references in a lot of the choruses etc. and he just kept it real with exactly how he feels and where his life is right now. I can't wait for Boiling Point, finally get the K.O.D. back!
Charles Weis said:I feel like it has almost become a gimmick for Tech to release his K.O.D. persona whenever he upsets his older fans. He tries too hard to please everyone. If you're gonna do something dark, just do it, you don't have to call it "K.O.D. Collection" these aren't leftover beats from K.O.D. You don't always have to reference your previous work just because you can. I mean, yeah, should be better than EBAH but don't really have any expectations. Just gonna wait 'n see.

Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on October 10, 2012 at 12:48am I just feel like he's trying to capitalize off of a previous album when they're really not that related. Ok, so it's dark... and? I know, King of Darkness, but they're not even leftover beats, he's just throwing on an old persona because he knows it'll grab the older fans' attention. He says he doesn't give a fuck what the fans think (to a degree, at least where he goes musically) but he covers all his bases anyway. Which, good for him, I like that he does everything. As long as the music's good it doesn't really matter, I just don't see why he's trying to connect these projects just because they're dark. He could've just done it as a Halloween EP without the whole K.O.D. element 'n I bet it'd still sell well. He was probably just pressured on time so he's like "fuck it, I'll just put out something dark too since my last EP was basically sex & partying and I know it'll sell well with the core fanbase. and fuck it, people liked K.O.D. right? some people think that was my best album? Ok, K.O.D. it is." But, like I said, as long as the music's good it doesn't matter in the end, just my two cents.

Permalink Reply by Nunya Biznazz on October 10, 2012 at 1:51am Who cares if he connects this release to K.O.D.? I don't think he's necessarily trying to milk the success of K.O.D. by doing that, but rather making a decision as an artist that probably actually has very little impact on sales, and I think he knew that. I think it was more about giving the fans an idea of where he was trying to go with the music on this release than it was about selling more copies by mentioning another album. Nobody seems to complain when Lynch ties a theme throughout multiple albums, or E-40, who has been doing a lot of that lately. I don't care if Tech chooses to name every album and EP from here on out K.O.D. part ,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, infinity, it won't influence my decision to buy the CD , the fact that it's a new Tech release is what will. If anybody is dumb enough to purchase BP solely because of the K.O.D. tie-in, and not just because they are a fan of Tech's music, then good for Tech, but I seriously don't think that it was his intention to fool gullible fans into purchasing an album that they otherwise would not have if it weren't for the mention of K.O.D.. I'm not being argumentative, I just don't think that Tech needs or wants to resort to cheap marketing schemes to sell his music.
