Tech already said it's all original production. I tweeted him and he respond shit's on the first couple pages. Seven produced everything, they're not left over beats. I'm not sure if you're a new troll or not, being a blue head and all. But I'll feed you this one time.

I's said:

Some of you believe in the Loch Ness Monster and will eat your words when you hear music that was cut from K.O.D but made it here. Why lie and say he has K.O.D beats to be used only to release something called K.O.D collection that isn't from the K.O.D collection? Stupid. And trying to make some subconscious stoner argument is stupid. Who produced the beats?
Holy fuck you guys need a publisher for that book??? Ha

Don't get all sensitive on me now, I wasn't "shooting down" anything, just giving my opinion.  I was a DJ for over 10 years, and also worked in other aspects of the music industry, so I know a little bit about what I'm talking about.  I'm not just some jackass runnin off at the mouth.  Conscious or subconscious, I know myself well enough to know that slapping "K.O.D. Collection" on BP has had absolutely NO effect on my desire to own it.  I think of these EP's as being something that is mainly geared toward the fans more so than to gain new ones, not that Tech couldn't get new fans off of these as well, but their lack of widespread retail distribution beyond downloads supports this.  All I said was that I don't think it makes much of a difference one way or the other if K.O.D. is associated with this release, and I said that as a response to your comment about Tech trying to "capitalize" off of the success of K.O.D..  As far as you saying that people will hold this release to a higher standard because of the K.O.D. label, maybe that's true and maybe it's not, since it IS just your opinion the same as what I say is mine, and we can only speak for ourselves, but I know that I personally hold all Tech releases to a high standard because I know what he is capable of and I couldn't care less about a title.

I don't think you understood by subconscious comment. By adding K.O.D. collection we will subconsciously connect it to the previous K.O.D. projects, where as Boiling Point on it's own, wouldn't most likely. I think I understand what you're saying though, it's an obvious connection, I get that. But it's a little more complex than that, by tying it to previous good works, it will probably make someone more likely to check it, subconsciously. And as for shitty cover art, that works subconsciously too, we talked about this when WTS came out, if someone walking by who didn't know Tech N9ne and saw that cover art, they'd probably be less likely to check out the album than if it had enticing artwork. That's how it works. There is a difference between Boiling Point and Boiling Point: K.O.D. collection, and it will affect people's perception. Some people might have higher standards from the K.O.D. connection, subconsciously. I emphasize subconsciously because it's not supposed to be something you actually notice. Of course you've never bought an album based on the artwork, that's obvious, you're trying to shoot down my statement by giving examples of conscious acts.

Nunya Biznazz said:

There's not much subconscious about saying it's part of the "K.O.D. Collection", which was clearly a popular album, unless I'm just particularly sharp. lol  I can only speak for myself, but I own somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 - 6,000 retail albums and I've never purchased one simply for the title or the mention of a "collection" that it was part of, and I would hope that others aren't that easily swayed.  I base my decision to make a purchase off of my love for the artist and their track record with quality of previous releases, which is enough for me to purchase Tech N9ne's music regardless of title, cover art, or other such meaningless factors.  I would hope that most fans feel the same way.  Like I said before, I don't think Tech needs or wants to try to use subliminal messages or cheap marketing tactics to urge his fans to purchase his music.  Sure, a nice cover art and dope titles are a plus, but I've heard plenty of great albums with shitty cover art and dumb titles, so I know better than to care too much about that stuff.  Maybe that's just me but it seems like common sense.  I'm not saying you don't have a right to put your two cents in, just adding mine.

Marketing is rarely supposed to affect us consciously, it's a subconscious thing. People see K.O.D. Collection and will instantly subconsciously tie it to Seepage, Lost Scripts, and K.O.D., which were all really good, already making them more likely to buy it. Take into account he's doing the connections for us with the visual artwork and all the tweets and blogs. If he did another party album I wouldn't expect him to call it TGMP Pt. II or something like that, probably cuz it wasn't as popular. Remember when he said wanted A6A7 to be like Everready? In the sense where he did everything on one CD. Seven said it too "like Everready reborn". More or less the same concept, trying to remind people of an awesome project (he knows a lot of people say Everready was his best, and it's Tech's favorite) and connect the dots, despite there not really being that much of a connection. I also understand that these comparisons are meant to give people an understanding of what the album is going to sound like, but when Tech said A6A7 was going to be Killer meets Everready, after the fact, I don't see the similarities, they're all their own albums to me, all with different sounds. Which is a good thing. Me personally, I just prefer fresh ideas, as opposed to capitalizing off of prior success. I understand sequels and all that, and I understand why he's tying Boiling Point to K.O.D. it was just something I thought of that I felt like bringing up. That's all. But it's whatever, Strange Music is a business so I understand the move, I just found it a little odd. Like I said, as long as the music's good it won't really matter in the end.

Nunya Biznazz said:

Who cares if he connects this release to K.O.D.?  I don't think he's necessarily trying to milk the success of K.O.D. by doing that, but rather making a decision as an artist that probably actually has very little impact on sales, and I think he knew that.  I think it was more about giving the fans an idea of where he was trying to go with the music on this release than it was about selling more copies by mentioning another album.  Nobody seems to complain when Lynch ties a theme throughout multiple albums, or E-40, who has been doing a lot of that lately.  I don't care if Tech chooses to name every album and EP from here on out K.O.D. part ,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, infinity, it won't influence my decision to buy the CD , the fact that it's a new Tech release is what will.  If anybody is dumb enough to purchase BP solely because of the K.O.D. tie-in, and not just because they are a fan of Tech's music, then good for Tech, but I seriously don't think that it was his intention to fool gullible fans into purchasing an album that they otherwise would not have if it weren't for the mention of K.O.D..  I'm not being argumentative, I just don't think that Tech needs or wants to resort to cheap marketing schemes to sell his music.

I just feel like he's trying to capitalize off of a previous album when they're really not that related. Ok, so it's dark... and? I know, King of Darkness, but they're not even leftover beats, he's just throwing on an old persona because he knows it'll grab the older fans' attention. He says he doesn't give a fuck what the fans think (to a degree, at least where he goes musically) but he covers all his bases anyway. Which, good for him, I like that he does everything. As long as the music's good it doesn't really matter, I just don't see why he's trying to connect these projects just because they're dark. He could've just done it as a Halloween EP without the whole K.O.D. element 'n I bet it'd still sell well. He was probably just pressured on time so he's like "fuck it, I'll just put out something dark too since my last EP was basically sex & partying and I know it'll sell well with the core fanbase. and fuck it, people liked K.O.D. right? some people think that was my best album? Ok, K.O.D. it is." But, like I said, as long as the music's good it doesn't matter in the end, just my two cents.

I hope you weren't saying that I insulted you, Charles.  I don't like to jump to conclusions and assume things, but it kind of sounded like you might have been saying that.  I didn't insult you any more than you insulted me, but I'm not sensitive about somebody disagreeing with me, and all I was doing was disagreeing with you.

No I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about the dumb asses on this site that don't know how to respect someone else's opinion. We had a good discussion and I enjoyed it, I wasn't insulted, in fact quite the opposite. I'm glad we were able to have differing opinions without resulting to name calling or any bullshit like that. There's just a bunch of either trolls or mindless drones on this site, you don't always get a decent discussion. So I'm glad you are above the nonsense.

While normally I would agree with you, I'm highly considering pre-ordering this EP in order to receive an autographed copy due to the extension. However I refuse to put out my hard earned dollars for something that won't be worth the purchase. I'd feel way more comfortable hearing a single or two now that I've seen the tracklist and then supporting in light of the past couple of lackluster projects. I can always just buy it after it's release if that were the case but I'd probably miss out on the limited signed packages (which more than likely will happen anyhow now lol).

I'm surprised we still have yet to hear any singles or see any promo videos regarding Boiling Points (EP).

You think theres still time to get an autographed copy?
