Permalink Reply by Chief on September 17, 2012 at 3:22pm ? One song?? its been two Back to Back EPs that have sucked, that's why we are 'beating him up" lol.
Everyone resorts back to 'At least he's putting out a lot of music' and that's bullshit. Quality over Quantity any day, Tech N9nes sacrificing quality to meet quantity and the result is SHITTY FUCKING MUSIC and RETARDED ASS FANS....

wow, didn't see such a bad review coming. You guys are just anticipating it too much.Tech still makes great songs and from what has been mentioned recently the album is gonna have some good shit on it, not to mention the october EP is probably gonna be dope (I like darker shit). You cant beat the man up over one song that really wasnt terrible. Maybe it wasnt tech's finer work, but he's had other shit I didnt really feel and i saw no reason to criticize the shit out of it. At least he's working to put out music at such a fast rate. I myself think he should take time to make music, but with everyone up his ass about dropping new shit I think we should be more thankful rather than demeaning about it.
Permalink Reply by BMC on September 19, 2012 at 6:58am If you're very easily offended by tech n9ne criticism, and feel like fighting more than discussing, skip all the way down to the last paragraph which was my initial response to the video I wrote in the wrong thread and reposted here. Everything between here and the last paragraph is me being high at 4am rambling (but intelligently...i think) about my opinion on Tech N9ne's status on music videos and singles.
Ok, so check this out...I started a new thread on this topic in the General Section cause I didnt know there had already been one created. I stand by everything I say in the paragraph I typed out, but before I post it here I wanna say something real quick....the point I make in the paragraph is that his video was made extremely well in the sense of most mainstream rap music videos. The only problem is, when tech makes videos he hopes might get come commercial airplay, he dumbs it down a little, and tries to make a catchier hook that people can dance to. BUT!!! He still keeps it Tech, and (with this video being an exception), the videos are rarely industry quality (and by that I dont mean the picture or sound isnt good enough, I mean the directing and theme just doesn't fit...whether it be a ghetto produced club shot, a collage of live Tech shows, or Tech bein his original crazy self like in Red Nose or Who Do I Catch Now). When Eminem signed with Dr. Dre, they predicted this problem. How do you let the artist be themself and still make hit singles that include videos to go with them? Well, Eminem was lucky because he was a white rapper with a style all his own, and could make a song/video like The Real Slim Shady and people would love him for it. But non the less, Dre and Eminem sat down and said, "Ok, so here's the album, its dark, its shady, its YOU. BUT, we need songs we can play on the radio and videos we can play on television or this just isnt gonna work." So for each of Em's singles they came up with the catchiest fucking thing they could think of, no matter how corny it was, and made millions. Unfortunately for Tech, he's a black rapper who likes to make club hits (all his own of course, anybody whos been to a Tech show will tell you that at least half those songs especially the newer ones should be played in clubs and danced to). What makes that unfortunate, is when it comes to the singles/videos, he dumbs it down....but.... HERES THE KEY PART....the songs just aren't catchy enough. THAT, and the fact that when he does make a video for a doper, maybe catchier song, the video just....im sorry to say this...sucks. I mean its not that the idea for the videos are all that bad, I just swear the director, or the producer, or whoever it is that is in charge of these things just doesn't know how to make a video that everyones gonna love.
NOW, it is veeeeerryyy hard for me to explain what I'm trying to say typing it out like this, so take everything you just read with a grain of salt, and listen to what I'm about to say. I LOVE the way this video was filmed. I think it was the first video Tech has done that I could see being on MTV, as far as production quality goes. The point I was trying to make with talking about Em and Dre, is the reason (one of the reasons) Ems singles are so popular is because theyre so catchy. THE REASON all the bullshit that you see on BET and MTV these days is so popular (and the shit u hear in the club), is cause no one knows how to rap these days, but some how they know how to make CATCHY ass chorus's with well produced videos. So my suggestion to Tech is, keep doin that HARDCORE TECH SHIT with your albums, and just make TWO to THREE songs with catchy ass radio choruses (I know you've got the money by now to get a couple well known producers in the lab with you) and pay some bitch like Spike Lee (not really, but you know what I mean) to do your videos. Thats shit isn't selling out if every single other song on the album is fire. The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show, three of the best albums of all time...but all of them had My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, and Without Me on them. Theres a way to the mainstream without becoming mainstream, trust me.
And please, don't hate on me too much for any of this guys, im fuckin high, its 4 in the morning, im just rambling. But that still doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.
Here's the original paragraph I wrote in the other thread
Soooooo....heres what I gotta say. Techs new video, "Dont Tweet This," all though its not one of his best songs, not even an amazing song to begin with period (although it aint bad, i aint hatin) it is by far one of the best videos hes ever made. This is the VERY FIRST music video ive ever seen out of tech (except for maybe OG, which unfortunately never made it) that I can see in regular rotation on BET and MTV. GREAT party video. I dont know who directed it, but they did a great job. I really do need to listen to the song a few more times, hopefully Ill like it a little more after a few listens, but as far as the video goes, this is mainstream, primetime cable music television shit. I'm proud of you tech
Permalink Reply by BMC on September 19, 2012 at 7:05am Whooooaaa....ok so the second I posted that, I thought of where I talk about how its not selling out if you only do it with a couple songs for singles, but I TOOOOTALLYYYY forgot where I was. I'm in the same place where thousands of people think Tech sold out for doing ONE song with Lil Wayne that wasnt even a single. Wow am I in for a shit storm with this one....
And damn, I must really be out of it because I had no idea I was typing for that long. No time/energy to even read half what I just wrote, so ima just come back and see what kind of mess I made tommorrow.....hahahahah
Permalink Reply by Chief on September 19, 2012 at 1:39pm I guess i just can't agree that its an accomplished EP.
Don't Tweet This is in my opinion not a good party song. Caribou Lou, that's what a good party song should sound like.
KJOMD is not a good song when compared to Sex Out South, Flash, The Waitress all still just songs about sex but much much better and well put together. KJOMD is just another track he tried way to hard to create IMO, plus not everything needs to be an acronym so it gets negative points for that as well.
A Real1 - This song is by far the best sounding track on the EP..but like i stated before he wrote the song about a Twitter Troll....are you kidding me? You're making a song about how 'Hard Core' you are, yet your butt-hurt about something a troll sent you on twitter? I know your old Tech but Jesus...grow up, and get over it. Congratulations for the Troll who now has a song written about him, talk about successfully trolling..
Earregular - This track is good, with the exception of the chorus the song is awesome, even the chorus would be good if he would take off that obnoxious voice effect. Throws way too much treble out of my stereo and seriously hurts my ears if its turned up loud.
E.B.A.H - Another good track, once again with the exception of the Chorus and bridge. I really dislike the part where he asks 'Whats my name' "E. B. A. H" its retarded.
Boy Toy - This song is what it is. Still not one of his best songs about sex but i mean its whatever another repeated topic on an average track.
Rock Yo Head - I still haven't even made it through this entire track because the Chorus drives me fuckin' nuts and none of the verse's are 'impressive' enough to make up for the lack of effort put into the chorus ( Quit Lying to yourselves and saying its an 816 Boyz song so its not supposed to be taken seriously therefore its good... Shut the fuck up, just because he dubs 816 Boyz as a parody group doesn't mean they can make shitty music and still have it be considered good. The song sucks, its not funny, so what the fuck is it even on the EP for?....can you say 'Filler Track!'
Overall the EP Blows gets a 1 out of 5 by me. None of the tracks jumped out at me instantly i had to force myself that E.B.A.H and Earregular were good songs. A Real1 sounded great when i first heard that i was like 'Hell Yeah' got one good track off this EP..Then i realized it was just Tech rapping about how easily butt-hurt he is. Weak ass shit....

Cheif thats simply your opinion. Its not shitty fuckin music, its not waka flocka, its not gucci mane its not soulja boy its not tyga its not terrible at all. Sure its not the same quality but it definately isnt shitty, songs like kjomd are pointless in my opinion boy toy isnt that great but the other records on the EP accomplish their purpose. Dont tweet this is a party song and for a party song its pretty tight, cut out the pointless skits and kjomd n boy toy n u have a solid ep with those 5 songs left over, stop treating your opinion as if it is fact, cuz u are wrong and need to quit pushing it on people cuz they dont wanna hear it anymore
Permalink Reply by Chief on September 19, 2012 at 3:17pm A fact sandwich lol thats some funny shit. Fair enough but nobody else finds it weak that he wrote a song about a Troll?

Ur entitled to ur own opinion but dont shove it down our throats like its a fact sandwich. I dont like kjomd or boy toy. I dont think its accomplished and the the the acronyms/characters need to stop because its just gettin fuckin weird now but its better than a 1/5 overall id give it 3/5
Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on September 19, 2012 at 3:24pm correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see anyone stating their opinion as fact, we're all just stating our opinions. No one is shoving their opinion down your throat just because they're replying back to you lol. Now, if I missed a post where someone actually said otherwise (and I know, in other threads people try to pretend like their opinions are fact, and that's wrong) but I haven't seen it in this thread yet.

Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on September 19, 2012 at 4:02pm ehh, it was a good song I think, I guess it's comical but I didn't really think about it that way until you brought it up. Although I do laugh at Kaliko's hook when he says "we be beefin' on Twitter" I think that's hilarious

Permalink Reply by Chief on September 19, 2012 at 4:12pm Yeah, it is funny and thats the thing i mean the song isn't that bad really. I just can't take it seriously, even though some parts of it are supposed to be serious. I'm over the E.B.A.H thing now ive got all my venting out and i'm looking forward to hear what he brings to us next. This EP proves that you will never know what to expect with his releases.
