Anybody else think that Tech had too many features on All 6's and 7's? I buy his music to listen to Tech, not all these other rappers.
Permalink Reply by Mr Brown on June 11, 2012 at 12:55pm given the fact that he only had a month to make WTSL how can you say it was that bad. he didn really have time to make a perfect cd. given the amount of time he had to throw it together.. it came out beautifully. not hatin but give the man some credit for his hard work.
Permalink Reply by ₡₱♛ on June 11, 2012 at 1:37pm He didn't have to make it in a month. He chose to rush it and get it released before he went on tour. Which I think worked fine for WTSL since it was easy for him to get features for it. But rushing music can easily backfire, like the obviously unfinished Klusterfuk.

Permalink Reply by Brandon Carter on June 11, 2012 at 3:09pm I'd like to take it one step further and say that his music since KOD has been at the most dramatic decline of his career. AP, Anghellic, Everready, Killer, MLK, Sickology, were all amazing albums, killer had a few issues here and there, Everready did as well. KOD was his magnum opus in my opinion. It only had two songs I couldn't listen to every time (temperature and B-Boy and those were even tolerable especially in the car with the subs cranked) The beats were flawless beginning to end, dark, gloomy, complicated, and very melodic but dangerous sounding. The lyrics were perfect and it had one of the best album closers of any of his works. the martini (minus the credits which still crack me up) has to be one of his best "story" songs. I could literally rant and rave about all the things I loved in that album for pages but lets get to the nitty gritty here.
All 6's and 7's is almost exactly what I felt Gates was gonna lead to. Gates was good but it was pretty poor in the atmospheric, and lyrical content departments. it was all club banger save songs like Harvey Dent(my favorite Gates) F.U. Pay me, Far out, Afterparty (still kinda clubby), and the chamillionare-esque POW POW. It was a decent mixed tape offering and a pretty awesome tour but all in all it was an obvious change in direction from the style of KOD. A6A7 is a direct descent from Gates. It showed me just how hard he wanted to be famous even at sacrificing the integrity of his music a little. Lets be honest, there's no way in hell tech thinks wayne is a "dope"rapper,
there's no way someone who works that hard and writes that hard and runs his own company, and manages his own artists while still being on the road almost 3/4ths of the year could possibly respect how quickly and easily wayne has gotten big. sure wayne churns out mixtapes faster than almost any rapper, but that's just it the vast majority of them are trash, they're garbage, they're sloppy hood beats with sloppy drug and violence or sex rapping. I'm sure tech wanted to work with him because it would expand his career and give him more opportunities and because who wouldn't accept the invitation to work with someone in your field that even if you don't respect them you know their name could do wonders for your career or even just because in all honesty and lack of lyrical skills wayne is a cool ass dude with a fascinating life story. I respect him as a person and i'm sure most rappers do. he's not a bad dude. he's just not that talented and entirely overrated. So sure I understand why he pushed in the direction he did for 6's and 7's...he wants his name out there, even if it means using goofy features that seem out of place then getting screwed over later by wayne...
I still hate that tech's carter IV feature was just called "interlude" one verse from tech, one very bad verse from 3000....who I didn't know could rap that poorly, and absolutely no involvement from wayne on the track. it was like "here nigga, i'm famous as fuck you can rap here but dont' expect me to be a part of it i'm doing this as a favor"
seriously though, there isn't a whole lot to say about the album other than the fact that I was able to find 5-6 songs I really fucking dug then the rest were throw away pop music, I loved the B-sides though, those were good. I mean I can rant and rave about any of his albums all day but when all 6's and 7's is brought up i'm left at a loss for words because its' such an underwhelming album and his half assed dubstep has got to go.
I guess that's all for now i'm too stoned for that.
Permalink Reply by a tie a on June 11, 2012 at 3:37pm those were dope too, probably compensated for B. Boy lol. but i'm still not sure which I'd say it better though

what about Like I Died & F.U.N. for K.O.D.?
a tie a said:Easily 1 of his best albums, still unsure between that and K.O.D though. Both had just a couple of tracks that weren't good, but with the 6&7s bonus tracks, that more than compensated for it
Permalink Reply by Dean on July 9, 2012 at 7:11am Tech, whatever you release, i'll enjoy it, i love all your music, and all 6's and 7's is a great album.
But this time don't have too many artists, make some more solo songs, or songs with people in the label.
And remember guys if all 6's and 7's wasn't to your liking, Tech came back with Welcome to Strangeland which was fucking awesome.
Try to not use too much dubstep though on your upcoming album.
