“The beats sound nothing like anything you’ve ever heard me on. The features that I’m going for are something you would never imagine. All I can say about it now is that it’s a very human album. What I mean by that is that it’s contradictory. On one song I say, ‘The saint is ours’, like we’re in the saint’s corner and then I have another song called ‘I’m Not A Saint’. It’s so beautiful because the King, the Clown, and the G are still present on this album.
There’s no apologies in what I’m saying. I don’t mind that it contradicts itself because that’s what people do. The album is everywhere. It feels like it’s Hell, Purgatory and Heaven all over again. I’m telling stories that I’ve never told – that I was afraid to tell on some songs. It’s super personal and I’ve got a big chip on my shoulder again. It’s always been there, but it’s getting bigger having to prove to fans and critics that we ain’t goin’ nowhere.” -Tech N9ne from SM blog 2/8/13
"Tech was literally dancing in his seat with excitement about the new album and some of the featured artists on it. He couldn’t say who they were, but he did explain that the album will be broken up into three distinct sections — Fire, Water and Earth.
Fire, Tech said, will have darker tracks, but the CD will finish with a heavenly theme in the Earth portion.
“I’ve got some heavenly ‘We Are The World’ shit on this album, swear to God,” Tech said.
As for Water, Tech said he hasn’t quite decided, but possible themes might be partying or confusion." -DailyWIldCat.com 3/29/13

Permalink Reply by ЖĭϞϬ ƦΔϟŦԃ on February 4, 2013 at 3:23pm Makes sense. I feel the same way about Tech and Macklemore though. Interested in hearing what Tech has in store for that collabo.

I saw it in an interview. He said they are way too different. He doesn't think there will be a beat for them. Something along those lines.
DJ605 said:Where would have Tech said that would never happen? I'd love for that to go down, haha.
Alex M said:I'd like to see Slug on a track but I think Tech sad that would never happen.
a tie a said:Macklemore would be a doooope collab. and Tech needs to get some better features imo he doesn't reach out to the backpack type artists (for lack of better term) that much
Permalink Reply by Jerm on February 4, 2013 at 5:18pm What?! I love Tech's music and Atmosphere's. Tech has collaborated with artists that are more different from his aesthetic than Slug's. I think they could make it work.
Permalink Reply by a tie a on February 4, 2013 at 5:45pm can we get a link to that interview?

Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 4, 2013 at 6:24pm I knew someone was going to ask. I'm not even going to bother finding it. I can't remember if it was a Ustream or Youtube
or I read it somewhere.

Permalink Reply by ЖĭϞϬ ƦΔϟŦԃ on February 4, 2013 at 6:38pm I just don't think their production is all that similar. I don't think I've ever heard a beat from either of them that I could hear the other on. That's my opinion though. But if Tech doesn't use similar production, he's never going to hear Slug on a beat. I'd love to hear him work with Brother Ali, but I think the chances of that happening are slim as well.

Permalink Reply by Jerm on February 4, 2013 at 8:54pm Yeah, I agree on the production. One of them would have to step out of their comfort zone and try something different I guess. Perhaps a more experimental project where there is more freedom and less of a time constraint, I'd work better. I'd have to be one of Tech's more serious, thoughtful songs I think.
Permalink Reply by a tie a on February 4, 2013 at 9:00pm how bout Tech gets Ant from Atmosphere make a beat for him and have Slug on it? Tech doesn't have to depend on his own production team for everything, though I wouldn't be surprised if Seven came through with something that works out. A Tech and Brother Ali track would be amazing too
Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 6, 2013 at 3:37pm THIS POST HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ALBUM. I didn't want to make a whole thread for it.
Tech speaking on the 10th anniversary of 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Tryin"
“50 probably ain’t gotta do shit no more [to make money]. To still see him doing music, it lets you know that that shit is inside you because he ain’t gotta do it, ever again. To see him keep doing it, it lets me know that when I think about retiring, [I can't]. When I hear a dope beat it makes me want to fucking go. I can’t stop. That’s all I can think of when I see 50 still doing his thing. It must be in his blood, he don’t wanna let it go. He ain’t gotta do it, especially if he bought Mike Tysons house with one song.”
Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 6, 2013 at 3:43pm Liz Suwandi will be on the album. The whole interview is a good read.
