“The beats sound nothing like anything you’ve ever heard me on. The features that I’m going for are something you would never imagine. All I can say about it now is that it’s a very human album. What I mean by that is that it’s contradictory. On one song I say, ‘The saint is ours’, like we’re in the saint’s corner and then I have another song called ‘I’m Not A Saint’. It’s so beautiful because the King, the Clown, and the G are still present on this album.
There’s no apologies in what I’m saying. I don’t mind that it contradicts itself because that’s what people do. The album is everywhere. It feels like it’s Hell, Purgatory and Heaven all over again. I’m telling stories that I’ve never told – that I was afraid to tell on some songs. It’s super personal and I’ve got a big chip on my shoulder again. It’s always been there, but it’s getting bigger having to prove to fans and critics that we ain’t goin’ nowhere.” -Tech N9ne from SM blog 2/8/13
"Tech was literally dancing in his seat with excitement about the new album and some of the featured artists on it. He couldn’t say who they were, but he did explain that the album will be broken up into three distinct sections — Fire, Water and Earth.
Fire, Tech said, will have darker tracks, but the CD will finish with a heavenly theme in the Earth portion.
“I’ve got some heavenly ‘We Are The World’ shit on this album, swear to God,” Tech said.
As for Water, Tech said he hasn’t quite decided, but possible themes might be partying or confusion." -DailyWIldCat.com 3/29/13

I've wanted Tech and Hollywood Undead to collab for a while now. That would be awesome.
L.J. said:The voice isn't really what matters. I didn't like prozak's voice when I started listening to him but now I like it, same with SwizZz (I think tech should do a collab with him regaurdless of how much hype he doesn't have, he is a sick lyricist) I think tech should collab with Hollywood Undead, they are new and up and coming but they are basicly creating a new genre of rock rap music and tech would tear that shit up! Although, I have watched a couple hollywood undead interviews and I would have to say that they are ignorant in some ways, but in the big picture I wouldn't want that to get in the way.

Permalink Reply by matt meyer on February 27, 2013 at 4:08pm Another example, MAYDAY said that they had a lot of material that didn't make their album, and that ended up being the best album strange has put out since KOD (imo). I hope that tech is doing that. Just look back to last year and imagine if he took the best tracks off of his 3 mediocre EP's and made one GOOD ep. shit would be amazing.

I know Tech said he isn't the type of rapper to make 50-60 songs and then pick the best 15-20, he usually ends up making a handful of extras that get released for pre-orders, bonus tracks, etc. But I think it could be a pretty good idea, makes sense to me. Maybe that's why it's been pushed back so many times? It was originally supposed to come in October, before any plans for more EP's. I'm an aspiring emcee as well, and even I recognize that not everything is "album-worthy".
Killer was a good double disc album, but if he narrowed that down from 30 to 20 tracks it could have been a phenomenal album. Same with the last few E-40 albums. Dude releases 3 albums with 20 songs each all at once, and in my opinion most of it is filler. Kendrick cherry-picked songs with his last album, he said there's mad material that didn't make the cut. It depends on the artist's personal taste though, some rappers do this and release albums that are garbage. I don't know, maybe Tech just absolutely loves every single word that he writes in every single song.
Permalink Reply by CHainedOwl on February 27, 2013 at 4:31pm lol I can totally understand that. I just like their older flow and the fact they incorporate rock with rap. But a lot of their guys are wack in my opinion. Their last album sucks hind tit for sure.

Permalink Reply by CHainedOwl on February 27, 2013 at 4:51pm Man, I actually like Eminem better since then :/ For me, it's just a preference in delivery; I really don't like his old Slim Shady style with the high pitched voice and choppy delivery. I'm a bigger fan of flow and how he stacks his vocals now than back then. To each his own, though.
So Lonely would have been perfect, and every time I listen to it I wish Tech could have waited a little longer to put him on it. I'd love to hear Tech and Em on an emotional track where they each go 32 bars straight. That's when I personally like Em the most, when he just keeps going. But Tech already has an idea for that collab though (we think Psycho Bitches 3). I'm hoping it's something different for the reasons I just listed. Unless the beat isn't choppy...and sampling the SAW theme would be killer.

Alex M said:I hope Tech gets Eminem only because he has wanted him on a track for so long. Eminem is garbage now and Tech would embarrass him. If Tech brought out the old Eminem, that would be something special.
Chained Owl said:(EDIT: Looks like Alex M beat me in reiterating this point vv)
I've been assuming that the main reason for the push-backs is to secure features (primarily Eminem). Too many times we've heard about who was supposed to be on certain tracks, but due to time constraints it never happened. I think since Tech has become more popular he wants to start getting the first features he wants on tracks to increase album quality.
Also, because of the recent success of the label he doesn't need to quickly push out an album to get revenue. It makes economical sense; plus Strange has plenty of material being released in 1Q anyway.
Permalink Reply by Alex M on February 27, 2013 at 5:37pm I hate the Slim Shady persona. "The Eminem Show" era is when he was at his best.

Permalink Reply by Z1mM3r on February 27, 2013 at 5:39pm this exactly how i feel... Eminem has matured, his voice, his lyrics, everything. I really enjoyed Recovery... even songs like the ones with Rhianna... if you actually listen to his lyrics and not pass it off cause of the title or features, its an amazing track.. and thats just one example.
I like the direction Em is going in lately.. and i personally highly doubt that Tech would destroy Eminem on a track. it wouldnt be a conversation of "Who was better..." it would just be "wow that track was perfectly put together.

Permalink Reply by MasterMind619 on February 27, 2013 at 6:18pm well I meant more in the sense of that he's ducking Tech because he doesn't like him, like a Tyler The Creator instance more so then the other way cuz Wayne, and Snoop have worked w/ Tech and they're in the same realm as where Luda is now (not lyrically but in what kind of music he makes)
Mark said:
yes if luda wanted to do a collab he would. Does luda do any collabs with anyone who doesn't heavy radio play?
MasterMind619 said:Does anybody believe that maybe Ludacris is ducking Tech on purpose? Like when Tech said in "Why You Aint Call Me" 'spoke to Luda couple times, don't think he see me.' I would love to hear a collab but I'm curious if thats the case. I've been trying to tweet Tech about it the past 24 hrs. And yes I believe this album will top A6A7 and I loved that album. I think this album will truly be "Something Else"

Permalink Reply by ₡₱♛ on February 27, 2013 at 6:46pm 1) To me, voice is a huge part of a skill set. I don't care how good your lyrics or flow are, if you don't sound good doing it then its meaningless.
2) I've never, ever seen someone call SwizZz a sick lyricist. Imo, he's a punchline rapper with terrible punchlines (I'm on one like I'm standing on a number) lolwut
3) I listen to a lot of rock music, and imo Hollywood Undead is trash. They did not "create a new genre of rock rap music", they took nu metal and threw on some screamo.
