So I was at the park smoking a blunt with some Friends and I put "Im a Slacker" by Tech n9ne from his Absolute Power Album on and one of my friends noticed something Tech said and he told me to play Hypnotized by Notorious B.I.G. And I instantly dropped my jaw from what I heard.

Has anyone else noticed that on Slacker At around 40 Seconds Tech says

"So I just, grip my piece, rip off fleece
Out to take ya lip off chief, with my peeps"

On Hypnotized by Biggie at around the same time He says

"So I just speak my piece, keep my piece
Cubans with the Jesus piece, with my peeps"

Listen to the 2 songs yourself, It sounds the same Flow wise aswell, Now Im not here to EXPOSE TECH N9NE Saying hes a terrible rapper or anything like Lilwayne, Drake ETC But I just thought Its kind of funny that he pulled that, I could not find anything on the internet about it either so I figured id ask to see what others think. I still love Tech N9ne and will Continue to buy all of his albums but That shit struck me hard, What do yall think about this. Biting is Biting no-matter how you look at it keep that in mind. I hope I didn't Ruin Tech N9ne for anyone Because hes still one of the best.

So what Tech also used "I'm just another Gat man caught up in the mix, tryna take your dollar and your 15 cents..."
original, "I'm just another black man caught up in the mix, tryna make a dollar outta 15 cents." Shock G from Tupac's "I get around" also "I'm a Playa" was taken from "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco...look it up on youtube
Yeah that was posted on the first page, 2pacs Get around song.

krizz has usedd ll cool j and pac lyrics. its just things rappers do, its not biting to take a small segment of lyrics, its kinda showing respect enough to say "hey this part is dope so im gonna pay homage to this dude by spittin my own twist on it". biting however is to take an entire style and consistently use it to sell out.
It's not bad to flip lyrics. Biggie was such a great lyricist. I don't blame any rapper that wouldn't put their twist on his lyrics. It's only when it's overdone that it is no good. For instance, Jay-Z uses several Biggie lines in practically all his albums. That is when it gets a bit out of hand I think.
Its called "Interpolation". Everyone in Hip Hop does it, its meant to be a way to pay homage to others that have inspired you or just shit you like. Method Man, King Gordy, those I can name off the top of my head, but its done day in and day out. Its not biting when its stated flat out in the credits to albums as Interpolations. Plus, Tech borrows from really well known verses and rappers, some of you act like he was trying to get away with something.

He did knowing people would know where it was from...homage, tribute, etc...

some of the responses here are ridiculous, its like some of you have never listened to hip hop before.
This is the same shit all the Lil Wayne Fanbase say aswell, When Wayne Bites. I think you guys are all hugging on his nuts toomuch, Biting is for Non skilled rappers and is not for paying homage Its "I cant think of shit so Ill just copy this dude"
wow, just wow

Yeah, everyone takes rhyme schemes and patterns, just different words. i think its tight. And half of you FaGs that are sooo ok with it would be sooooo ok with tech spittin an entire weezy verse. Your all fuckin nut huggers
For the Slacker I dont mind because he Bites 2 Lines and changes them a bit but keeps it at the same Second on the songs to show OG's that hes a "Slacker" so he bites, But all of his other songs there is no explanation for them and I consider it just like the Lil Wayne case, Tech Is a good rapper but This is disappointed me because if I consider this "Paying Homage" ill be nothing by a hypocrite.

blah blah blah and he had a bit of my verse in there too, "tryna take ya dolla and ya 15 cents" sound it's definetly a pac line but called a tribute i liked the shit
how is there an "explanation" for what he does in Slacker, but not any of the other songs he does this in? its the same thing...

In "The Slacker" He Bites at around 45 Seconds He does the Hypnotize line by Biggie, Biggie has it around 45 Seconds aswell, at around 1:30 Exactly He starts off his second verse with the 2Pac line in Getin around, and in the 2pac song they say the line at the same time, It just matches up, Maybe Im just looking for an excuse because Im a big tech fan but I dont know this is BS Im kind of choked that I learnt that he bites somuch. I mean honestly only biters you see are overated terrible rappers like lilwayne, But You never see bonethugs biting lines or anything like this, Its just kind of crazy if you ask me.

I understand what your saying, I guess your right I just really did not expect Tech to do anything like this, I see that there is only somany ways you can say something and for the years rap has been around Im sure many have said the same things that they feel aswell differently to shake it up a bit but I did not expect tech to do it Asmany times as I saw. Oh Well Its not a big deal I suppose as long as the artist continues to produce work that does not contain Biting in witch I hope tech does.

off to school now, Listening to Demons :) C yall in 7 Hours.

I wouldnt call it biting brother. It's all love it's all hip hop and you can only say sumn so many ways it aint worth gettin mad over, that mad shit shoulda ended a long time ago ya feel me...the game is polluted thats why i got out

Example of the word concept:

Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero

Cops Killin Negros, Dont Give A Damn To Pull The Trigger
Bet The Pig Be A Hero, After He Kills A Nigga.

Still A Different Line. See What Im Sayin
