I have never questioned the decisions behind Strange's business model, it's been a huge success.  But I feel like you guys are really hurting your faithful fans out here by having all these releases within a couple months of each other.  I mean, I can't buy Prozak, AND Stevie Stone, AND Mayday, AND Brotha Lynch Hung, AND KLUSTERFUK, AND Kicking And Screaming in 2-3 months.  I'll buy Lynch Hung and that's probably it because i'm strapped for cash saving to go to the Tech tour in Charlotte this summer and Bonnaroo and Iron Maiden.  I mean you have a tour this summer as well and not many people can buy a VIP AND all these releases all around the same time.  I feel like some artists are going to hung to dry when the numbers come in.  Get back at me.

Scrap Iron Maiden...problem solved

I know last year, when WTSL and A6A7 came out, I downloaded both of those albums. I'd preordered A6A7, but couldn't wait any longer. Then I got WTSL for Christmas. If I hear Maydays new album leaks or something, I'm probally going to download it until my copy comes in. I'm not gonna bother downloading Klusterfuk, I'll be in New York when It ships out.

Just because I have the money to order all these in the same month or two doesn't mean I want to.  My life has priorities to ya know. Herp derp.

I'm simply making the argument that the less popular artists will suffer in sales due to the more popular releases being releases around the same time, atleast the pre-orders.

here is the general consensus. The new music is being released so people HAVE the music, strange music is constantly giving fans new chances to discover the new music die hard strange fans will buy it, but they do make more revenue off the tour sales...thats one of the things that keeps acts touring, those sales.

Mayday & stone dont have alot of Merch yet, so the release of the albums make sense. If you can't afford the pre order you go to the shows or go to the store...You can also go to Guvera to download the songs FREE where the artists are still getting paid for it. Or u can Itunes it...sure there is the 'pirate" format and people do it, It hurts the artist tho if people do that and dont go to the shows or buy the physcial merch its called MUSIC business for a reason....The releases being put out have been highly expected, Kluterfuk orginally was wanting to be released by the end of 2011 but timin didnt have it happen...Strange music has distribtuion through Fontana, who normally books out there release dates 3-6 months in advance if you dont put out your album by or during summer your lookin at possible heavy losses on the sales...New music during the holidays is nice, but spring & Summer are prime times for album releases ppl have more time, and with the Hostile take over tour being the spring & summer tour of (and only domestic tour at that)  this gives strange a chance to roll out a lot new merch to support and introduce to the fans...the tour has the new merch and new music often befor the on line store...You dont have to buy the pre order, often ur buying the autgraphed album and the t shirt (10 dollars for the shirt 10 dollar for the cd) if you got to FYE your gonna spend 20 bucks on Just the cd....everything bought on & from strange is paid directly to the artists and strange team. Royalties get broken down and paid out  based on quarterly sales (4 quarters, in a year) March is  the end ofthe first quarter of 2012 so putting out the EP & the mayday album befor the end of that quarter makes sence...april may & june will see 3 strong releases from strange which means there is a potential for high sales cause those are the prime release months, as well as touring months.

if you can't afford it whe nit comes out u can always buy it later on, but the releases are corresponding with the tour, and roll out of new merch for these artists.

This.

I'm saying, ultimately, Tech N9ne's fan base is mostly people who don't troll this forum and buy every album.  And ALBUM SALES MATTER!  Tech N9ne didn't get to the #4 on billboard with all 6's and 7's from fucking downloads.  When people see ALBUM SALES on CHARTS that's when the music breaks through to other people across the spectrum.  And other Strange artists will suffer in the album sales section due to Tech's release around theirs, so as long as they are fine with it and just want to make money off touring that's cool with me to.
