Looks like Australia is doing a lot of crying after 6 days then...

As long as we beat NZ its all good, Im the first to admit we are having a bad one this time, but when u have over 10 times the amount of people to choose from u can expect these numbers by USA

USA population: 311,591,917 / 18 = 17,310,662 people per gold

AUS population: 22,620,600 / 1 = 22,620,600 people per gold

we aint far behind

We have a larger population but most Americans dont give a shit about anything that occurs outside the U.S., including the Olympics. These Olympic games are the largest television broadcast in Australias history. Only about half of Americans even watch some of the games.

New Zealand has the same amount of golds as Australia, and our population is 4.4mil. By your logic that means if we had the same population as you, we would have 5 golds. And if we have the same population as America we would have 70 golds. Since a gold every 4.4 mil and all. lol.

As for the pic in the OP, a picture of Australia crying brings me joy, and NZ are just happier people. I see no loss there.

Interesting that you say that. I don't know anyone who doesn't watch the Olympics. Maybe it's because how many athletes from the Bay are competing.

I dont watch it. I saw that ABC did a study that said something like 59% of Americans will watch some of the Olympics this year. Being that ABC did the study, Im sure the actual percentage is lower.
