Is Snow Tha Product going to sign with Strange?
CES Cru posted this pic of FB:
I was really hoping Tech would stick to his promise that he'd sign no one else until JL (like he said in the past about other artists) or at least sign JL before Snow... I'm not a hater of her; she's dope but JL is a lot better... Brain Scatter was amazing, the whole DIBKIS thing he created all on his own; that's perfect for Strange.
Anyway, I'll still support her if she's signed but Tech and Trav really need to get on working out a deal with JL.
But what is everyone else's opinions?
Permalink Reply by darktwisted on December 7, 2012 at 5:15pm Signing to a Major, especially Atlantic, is a terrible choice. Unless your album sells 100k plus then the artist barely makes anything.
Chris Mathews said:Whos to say signing to strange is better than signing to atlantic? If I was an artist id never sign to strange you would always be stuck in techs shadow. And all of strange artist record sales are basically the same release after release unless your tech n9ne. and theyre promotion of their artists are extremely lacking.

Im just sayin just because its strange doesnt mean its a good deal or best for someones career. I mean yeah it would be cool touring with tech and everything but it seems that stranges main focus is tech. I truly believe that if tech quit today strange would not last.

Rittz and Mayday might be able to carry it.
I'd say kutt and kali but they aren't gunna be around too much longer either.
but Mayday is a fucking incredible band and Rittz's popularity is really on the rise, i think they could carry it.
not to mention stevie stone, ces cru, and jay rock are all fairly young.

Permalink Reply by matt meyer on December 7, 2012 at 7:53pm but anyway, can i say that i'd like it if neither snow or JL were signed?
They are good, but neither are great by any means. and like we said, tech is getting old, and strange needs to sign the caliber of artists that could carry strange on their own if tech happened to retire.
Permalink Reply by JetblacK on December 7, 2012 at 10:35pm I agree with both of your previous posts. JL and Snow are both good but not great.
As for carrying Strange post-Tech, I think Strange has enough talent to do it however I think they'd have to push for radio/tv in order to gain the attention of the masses because even though us people that know of the Kutt's, Krizz's, Maydays, and Rittz etc., none of them would be nearly as popular without Tech. Tech is just that good at rapping, marketing himself, and politicking; he just appeals to pretty much all types of people. The only one I could see getting the success on their own like Tech has is MAYBE Krizz because he can sing like a mf or possibly mayday but thats it. That's why so many people still sign with majors is because they can get that exposure without putting in 96 shows in 104 days or whatever the fuck they did.

JL is saying it isn't him [but most artists do that]
Snow is still signed to Atlantic which says something else.
and Tech did bring Snow on stage during the Gift of Rap concert.
here's the BIG thing people need to look at, Strange music as INDEPENDENT label spends money on marketing & promotion which is still meant and geared towards actually being in touchwith fans.. Everyone on strange (past & present) has their own niche and ways of trying to market themself. its about the artists grind because Strange can and will only do so much...Stevie stone can really be 1 of the next big artists because he is versatile and has the aggressive side...kutt is able to do "club styled" tracks Kali is every where, Rittz has his southern and chopper styles/flows... everyone is different on this tip. Ces Cru fits in with back packers..each of the artists have ways to promote themself and can (and possibly will become) huge...If the artist is ONLY touring when tech goes on tour that limits the publics and fans interactions or chances to see the bands....Stevie stone tours on his own independent of strange Prozak is on the same route plus does his movies...if the artist isnt trying to line themselves up on a more familiar base with fans or crowds...their albums wont see numbers increase and then you have to think about how many people go and pirate the music,....
Strange offers distribution and merchandsing deals.publication rights, i mean as a label they do a lot, for and WITH the artist...If you look at previous artists like Young Bleed, Cognito, Grave Plott Skatterman & Snug Brim (and associates like BG buletwound D Loc da Gill God , Dalima or Grant rice) you could see each of those artistst could and would be able to do different moves, polliticking in music means performing and reachin out to the people doin meet and greets, but each artists is also workin regulars jobs cause being a indepdent rapp star is dope but it doesnt alway pay the bills especially since ppl dont buy muic the way they once did....but keep in mind the economy is in a down turn so shows are harder to book because money isnt always there...it isnt always there for any number of reasons.
Atlantic signed snow but she has only been putting out mix tapes at this point, instead of a full fledged album, and Atlantic could keep her shelved, If she signed with Strange sure it could and would be huge for her and strange but would it really be a "right fit" JL, Aqualeo, Flawless Realtalk, Sundae, liz suwandi, nikkiya are all artists that Tech has or does want to sign but it just depends on fans, situations and of course how well everything fits ...keep your eyes posted
at this Point Snow wants to work with strange to also build her own brand and have a working relationship, she could very well do a tour with tech Like MGK did..it all jus goes to show you anything can and could happen.
