King Rasta said:Honestly...no thanks. I dig Mayday, I think they're all super talented musicians. But I don't think Tech fit too well onto their production for Klusterfuk and I absolutely fucking hated the "Fuck Food" remix they did. If that's what their remixes will sound like, then no thanks. Now, if they just "recreated" all of the beats...like "covered" the rap production with live instruments, that could be cool.

Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on March 17, 2012 at 9:56am I don't see why people are saying that they shouldn't do it, like it was said before, just don't listen to it if you don't think you'll like it. I doubt it'll ruin your perception of the original even if you do check it out lol. I know people are gonna have different opinions and that's cool, I just don't get the "Don't do it, don't do it" kind of posts lol.
Permalink Reply by Sean Schipper on March 17, 2012 at 10:27am I liked about half of Klusterfuk. But it was Techs lyrics that turned me off. I thought Maydays beats were pretty good overall. Blur was a little sparse. But I would be into a Sickology mix. Would they leave everyones verses or replace the guests with their own?
I wasnt feeling Kixin it or Nothing, but Id probably give Sickology an 8 or maybe a 9. A good album, but I wouldnt call it perfect.

Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on March 17, 2012 at 3:01pm ehh, I think Mayday has proved they're capable of working on more than one project at a time, they're gonna produce music year 'round regardless. But then again, I would like to see them remix Sickology 101, so... I'm sure if they're talking about it already they're probably gonna do it anyways

Permalink Reply by ЖĭϞϬ ƦΔϟŦԃ on March 17, 2012 at 3:08pm I just typically don't enjoy remixes. If you're remixing a song I've known for a long time, particularly one I like, chances are I won't like it. Originals are just almost always better to me, might just be nostalgia. I don't doubt any of Mayday's musical abilities, I just don't think it would be worth the time. That's my opinion though. Like I said, I'd prefer if they just "covered" all of the instrumentals.

This is quite an interesting proposition to be honest. On one hand I'd love to hear what ¡MAYDAY!’s capable of creating by remixing Sickology 101, but on the other hand I feel that by taking the extensive amount of time to do this it may lead them astray from their own musical focus. Especially when regarding a collabos album that's around four years old, not to mention that they're taking part in a record breaking tour with Tech N9ne and Machine Gun Kelly for much of the year. I understand that their second LP is already set for release in a little over a week, but I just feel they could be putting forth their energy to a greater cause such as a new EP or even a mixtape at that. Also considering that Sickology 101 is damn near untouchable as it stands I guess I'm just really not seeing an extensive amount of benefit from an entire remix cut other than an initial, "Hey ¡MAYDAY! pulled that off pretty nicely, still like the original better however" type of reaction.
