Lil Wayne Might Retire After Carter IV
That’s right folks, from the mouth of the Martian himself. Weezy says he wants to, “bo[w] out still on top.” The rapper has faced a slumping career following his release from prison, plagued by failed singles, album delays, and negative reviews. With all this, it’s not a stretch to imagine that the beleaguered MC is seeking salvation from his fall from grace – as rapid as his sudden rise to dominance. Of course, the rapper had a more graceful reason on hand: “I honestly think it’s unfair to my kids.”
In an interview with XXL, the rapper nonetheless teased his fans with the promise of his next studio offering, “I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’, I ain’t leaving out this bitch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Fuck!’ Yeah, nigga, I’m gone.”
Unless you’re entirely new to the world of hip hop, you know retirement claims mean next to nothing. Think of…why bother: just about anyone with a big name, and, yep, chances are they’ve made clear – and gone back on – intentions to retire. Nonetheless, if Weezy sticks to his word, one can only hope “How to Love” isn’t representative of his final Carter chapter.

I saw this the other day. Thank god, he's been making so much terrible music for the last number of years. He also made a statement that he doesn't like his "Dear Anne" song. He probably heard all the shitty feedback. Honestly, I don't think he'll quit. Maybe he'll stop making solo albums or just take a break, but I don't think he'll quit. He's not even 30 yet.

I never said he was retiring because of money, i said that saying his career is slumping is stupid because he doesnt need it so hes not making music for money, i knew about this last week n that it was for his kids. And yo're right i dont want wayne to retire, he has alot Of good music, but fact is that he has put out SOOOO much music that theres bound to b alot of bad music as well, everyone on here that hates wayne hatds him for the wrong reasons and its fuckin retarded wayne is a way better emcee than anyone on psychopathik and subnoize combined, he's not my favorite artist but he's a good artist like it or not
