Black Gold just doesn't have as many stand-out tracks as some of his previous albums imo. The only tracks that somewhat stood out among the rest were Self-Preservation, Baby Mama Drama, Hello and Goodbye and Same Thing. I like several other songs but I also find myself skipping 3 or 4 songs, which is a decent portion of the album at only 14 tracks. I'd probably say this is his worst album, but not because it's bad, but because it sounds like instead of making progression, he just adopted more trap beats for street bangers and more radio friendly songs. Which is fine in small doses because I think Kutt, along with Stevie Stone and Mayday, have great potential to grab the attention of mainstream listeners without compromising their sound too much. I know Kutt can take a mainstream sounding beat or topic and still sound like no one else, but not so much on Black Gold. Feature Presentation was a great album, and B.L.E.V.E. and Raw & UnKutt both have lots of replay value, so there were high expectations. I'd say it's an average album, the first 6 tracks were good, although I think Lynch's hook was misplaced, would've rather seen a verse. I skip right through Jack Tripper, Anthem and It's Goin' Down (though Kutt has a good verse on It's Goin' Down). In They Honor isn't bad, but I prefer That's My Word. I kinda like Nesto's verse on the I Been Dope remix but I don't care for the rest of the song and I don't like that they removed the hook. If Kutt could reach a broader audience this album could be an opportunity to gain mainstream appeal, though I don't see that happening this go around. So far both Lynch's and Kutt's album have been less-than-great imo, though, I'll probably still buy both eventually, maybe during a sale. I expect Ces Cru, Rittz, Mayday, Wrek and Krizz Kaliko to blow these albums out of the water. Not a terrible start of the year for Strange but I expect the releases that are still to come to be much better than what we've received this year so far and the latter half of 2012.

Personally I really liked Black Gold. Idk how it stacks up with the rest of his albums yet, but I thought it was much, much better music than his 2 EPs. The middle of the album kinda got boring because of repetition of topics and sound, but I thought it started and ended great.

IT was great! But the choruses in tracks 6-9 are kinda crappy and riun the songs but everything else is exceptional

Pretty boring album, but I really liked how he talked about the whole Jovan Belcher situation in Hello and Goodbye.  I thought that was pretty cool.

this exactly... Im pissed i payed for 14songs and 1/2 of them are skipable. Anthem, See what had happened was, most of the RnB tracks on thier are skipable

Strange fans are too spoiled about the track amount. Just coz Tech has 18 tracks an album doesn't mean anything about setting standards. Tons of notable artists go with around 12-15 tracks on average. Shit, I buy some albums that only have maybe 10 tracks on them. I don't see why it's such a fuss. If you aren't happy with it, don't buy it smh

He had too many r&b type songs.

Kendrick's "good kid, maad city" had 12 songs, and almost every single one was an exceptionally good song. Kutt has 14 and they're hit or miss. I'm all for quality over quantity, I just don't think the album was anything special.

I guess I'm the only one who loved the entire album? Even Anthem is a good song to play for bitches

To each their own, I just didn't think it was that good except 4 or 5 songs. I had higher hopes for this album. Glad I didn't pre order, and I was very very close to doing so.

Agreed. But people complain about the track amounts even before it comes out, which really bugs me
