Jay Rock's album was tight. His next will be even better

Not about being "loyal." Jay signed to a hot indie label still on the rise. Strange signed a young artist with a growing name that's linked to a hot brand and artists (Black Hippy, Lamar, Q). Works out on all sides. Besides, Rock's the first Strange artist to make it on late night tv (Carson Daly).

To Greg, Bleed is gone, he said on twitter a while ago his next album wouldnt be on strange. And if the label was all people exactly the same there would only be the need to buy one album ever. Everyone on Strange has their skills/abilities which set them apart from the other artists.

Exactly. Jay Rock is one of the best on Strange.

Tech N9ne

Stevie Stone

Kutt Calhoun

Brotha Lynch

Mayday

and Ces Cru

are what make strange so dope...

I wish people would shut up about Young Bleed and Jay Rock..... honestly they suck...

Prozak is alright and Big Scoob is repetitive.

Now if Hopsin got signed that would be the shit.... but we all know thats not happening lol

my point is, there are better artists that belong on strange then Jay Rock

Has Cognito even released Spoiled Milk?? Jay Rock adds a west coast dimension to strange and dr. dre connection.

just because you haven't seen him or whatever don't mean shit, when's the last time you saw lynch?
No i dont stalk u, i have much better things to do, i do however happen to notice when u say something completely ignorant and stupid and i call u out on it. The fact that u let someone in a tech n9ne forum be a pain in your ass is sad and ridiculous. Get a life, and u must not know what a dick rider is cuz i most certainly am riding no dick by saying no one cares what u have to say. U sir are a fucking moron

Greg said:

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Don't be hating on Jay Rock. First off, if anyone who will be putting an extra amount of exposure on Strange Music, it will possibly be Jay Rock just for the connections he already has. Besides Tech N9ne being the biggest artist to help the expansion, Jay has potential of doing so as well. You have to think of it this way, Jay Rock puts out the classic gangster rap feel in his music, if you don't appreciate that then you don't know good hip-hop. I love all the Strange Music artists that are or were signed. If they were bad you think Tech would've signed any of them? So stop hating on anyone on the roster and show love to these guys for fucks sake!

Jay Rock is fuckin dope. Enough said.

/end thread.

It may not show through album sales and through Strange fans, but other than Tech, Jay Rock has the biggest buzz out of any artist on Strange online, and in the general Hip-Hop community. Considering Black Hippy signed to Aftermath, and Jay Rock and all of Black Hippy has cosigns from some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop, I think it would be safe to say that Jay Rock is more beneficial to Strange than Strange is to Jay Rock. His album was dope, I'll be coppin' the his next. As for the whole "how loyal is he to Strange" just sounds kinda gay to me lol. Just sayin'. An artist doesn't need to ride their labels metaphorical dick to appreciate what the label does for them.

I haven't really dug into how the whole contract thing works and Tech N9ne and Jay Rock didn't really get into details about it, or atleast I didn't see them really get into it, but from my perspective it looks like itz another one of those agreements where Tech N9ne saw Jay Rocks potential as an artist and they came together and said hey lets co-encide and release your album on Strange Music/TDE. I follow Jay Rock on Twitter and He is signed to the TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) Label and that is who he represents. I'm not sayin he is dissin Strange Music in NE way shape or Form. All I can tell from the situation is that Tech N9ne and Jay Rock came together worked together and released Jay Rocks album with both Strange Music and TDE Labels on the CD if I remember correctly. It wuz a business venture where both parties came out ahead. Kinda like how Tech N9ne and Grave Plot did a business transaction and both Strange Music and Killa C'z label Str8Dirty are both on the Grave Plot release. So its all business and helpin homies out on both sides of the fence.
