Jarren Benton? New FV artist.
I haven't seen anyone post anything about this yet so thought id start something up myself. What's everyone's opinion on the new FV artist Jarren Benton? Im personally digging his style, although it's only early days and being i have only heard 2 songs of his it's still hard to tell thuss far in, but ill put myself out there and say good call on FV for signing him.
On a side note he would suit Odd Future more lol.

i dont think he REALLY raps about money...i think he is a sarcastic parody rapper
Will said:I didn't hear a lot from him, but I thought he was an odd fit to FV. The first video they put up for him was about money, the kinda songs Hopsin is kinda known to be against. I like his voice, flow, and lyrics, but for some reason I don't really see him standing out or anything. That video posted above makes me think he fits a bit better now, but idk still. That beat kinda takes it out of the song. So, despite the interesting lyrics, I probably wouldn't listen to that song much.

Jarren was only saying that he felt like a million bucks i didn't see it as him rapping about money, i think its the video that made people feel he was a typical money/car/bitches rappers, but i guess time will tell lol.

Yeah, I wasn't sure. I'll listen to his mixtape sometime though. He had that confidence and with the money and things, he seemed like one of those rappers, but I suppose I will see.

I feel like outta all the YouTube rappers out there that they could have gotten a much. much, much better sign with someone like YONAS, Logic, shit maybe even Dee-1. Dude isn't terrible, but I don't find him to be anything special. Much better than SwizZz though lol.

I think it's funny that fans are saying Jarren doesn't fit the label when he does perfectly. He's not anything like Hopsin, SwizZz or Dizzy which is what makes him perfect. Funk Volume wants to reach every corner of hip hop, that's why every artist on the label is different. I believe Funk Volume will eventually be a melting pot of different types of good hip hop. Not everyone is going to agree that it's good hip hop because most fans just want another Hopsin. How boring would that be though? Quit crying that Jarren is too mainstream for the label and just don't purchase or listen to his music. It's really that simple.

Just listened to both mix-tapes. He reminds me of old school 3-6 Mafia. He's kinda horrorcore/gangster rap.... if you pay attention to lyrics.

I think he will definitely fit in with the crew, but Skitzo is crazy and he fleshes through complex rhymes with passion but all his other songs are just filled with shitty beats and bad lyrics.
I've only heard like 5 songs and Skitzo is the only one I've liked, can anyone recommend any other decent songs by him?
