Permalink Reply by ₡₱♛ on January 26, 2011 at 2:29pm I'm with you on some points. First off, I have no problem with Irv making the Red And Yellow song. i think its a sick song. I've heard tons of remixes of Black And Yellow and listen to probably 5 different ones regularly. My original problem with Red And Yellow was that Irv went to another level with it. Making a music video was cool, a bunch of artists have made videos for there (Insert color here) And (Insert color here) songs. But the whole remix contest thing was a little over the top, since its not really his song. And then the promotion he was giving to the song was just way too much for a track with an unoriginal idea. I havent seen any other artists who sampled Black and Yellow go to the level that Irv is for it. He should be spending more of his time promoting his original stuff.
But, I kinda disagree with you saying 200,000 views isnt a lot. You can't get to Irv's video by mistake looking for Wiz's video. If you search Black and Yellow on Youtube, Irv doesn't pop up. And if you search Red and Yellow, Wiz doesn't come up. Those views arent accidental. I mean yeah, a bunch of them are because they heard Irv made a remix to a sick (imo) Wiz track and went and checked it out. I'm sure the biggest reason why that video has way more views than any of his others is because it was featured on the local news station in KC during the Chiefs hunt for the playoffs, which made hella Chiefs fans go check it out. And because he acts like its his original song, you see people on here responding on how Wiz copied Irv because they don't even know that Irvs version is a knockoff
The way he responded was pretty immature. First off, he shouldnt be responding to stuff like that. If he thought it was stupid he either A) should of ignored it. or B) come up with above 3rd grade level responses. Seriously, none of his responses had anything to do with what you were saying about him. Alll he was trying to do was avoid the topic by saying some stuff he thought would be funny, and because he's Irv Da Phenom a bunch of his followers probably thought his responses were kicking your ass, even though they really didnt have to do with anything.
