How do u know the Bible you read is the word of God when the scripture were written by man?

that is a thought i've always had and why the Bible (IN MY OPINION) is a load of..... a word with negative connotations

tru... im not some church fanatic, but i do believe in God, Im Catholic, and theres things the catholic religion look down upon, but i do it, as long as i believe in something. Everyone has their own opinion tho

The bible is credible because of the truths in it and because of what it claims to be. It claims to be the truth according to God. It's basically like a guidebook for living. The reason many people misunderstand it or think it's a "hypocritical bullshit book" is because they don't study it. It's written by 'man' because 'man' is the communicator of the laws God has set. And man, the purpose of the bible isn't to condemn people to hell or to say that unless you do this, and this, and this, you can't get into heaven. It's message is that we've all messed up and we SHOULD be punished but Jesus took on our punishment. Then, after we realize that, we start to WANT to follow God's law, that goes for ME at least. As far as proof goes, there are a lot of archeological discoveries, historical events and personal experiences that prove the bible. God is real.

If you DONT believe, the bible says you are loved by God just the same. It's up to you to love God back. What you do in this life counts. It's amazing how many times I've gotten mad at God and wanted to lash out but I just remember the mercy he's shown me on the stuff that I've done.

Sorry to hear that. I honestly think you missed the message and at times it gets hard to truly understand God's will. It's cool man. I'd really encourage you to study it again. Not even for historical accuracy but just for some hope.

Make sure you're hearing God by other means. I understand wanting to stray away from churches but there are some good ministers out there who can speak life to you. You can download their podcasts for free and wont have to set foot in a church. I do hope you see, tho, that it's less important to be around people who we want to help us than it is to help others with what we know and can do. I completely understand tho.

Personally, the worst thing in my life happened (R.I.P. Mommy) - so, I don't really have time for Politics or Religion these days. I pray (a lot) - I just don't believe you need a church to pray in.

Don't get me wrong, to each their own, and I LOVE to hear (and experience) the beliefs of my friends, or get into an intelligent conversation, but for all intents and purposes: I vote for myself and worship myself.

I have little time for the drama and negativity that stems from extremists and radicals.

Then you've made your mind up already. Sorry to hear that man. Coming from a Christian standpoint, I really wish you would open your heart to it. Whatever arguments you have with the written bible, whatever conflict you've had with so-called Christians, it's not bigger than God. I've seen people achieve and experience amazing things as a result of having faith in God. I'll pray for you man. I understand where you are. I've been close to that so I know it's not like you're a bad person, just already have your mind made up.
