I first heard him on the Gang Related soundtrack back in 97/98, but kinda lost track of him until I found The Calm Before The Storm and The Worst at a Sam Goody in Nebraska. Been checkin' for him ever since.

Fukn Tech N9ne for Life
o i did, i called home every day, twice a day, in the day when my family was out, id talk to my sis for bout 15-20 mins, some times more, and the rest she would play me music i wanted to hear. all of techs new stuff at the time and other rappers and music. then when i called at night, i talked to my parents and especially my dad, he helped me alot, i was charged with murder and we would talk positive and pray over the phone and really kept my spirits up. Listenin to tech was just a bonus and privelage.

seems kinda lame that when you were in jail youd rather here some rapper over the phone than you own familys voices.... maybe thats just me lol

although ppl have asked this on threads MANY times, i just dont get tired of the story of "how did i hear of tech n9ne", lol.

i first heard tech when i saw him on the Sway & King Tech video "The Anthem", back in 1999, the video scene and the verse were just off the hook, me and my friends would listen and learn the verse by heart and rap it all the time messin around, i had never heard no stuff like that. Then i searched for him (back when downloading was first making itself known) and couldnt find anything, nor any cd's in any stores. So as time went on i began to find tracks on KAZA and Lime Wire, until ABSOLUTE POWER "slacker" & "Imma Tell" hit the radio stations, then i bought the album, found Anghellic, and looked up "The Calm Before The Storm" (wich i paid $50 for on half bay !) and "The Worst" and bought them. rest is history, first day albums are out, i bought em as well as dvd's (except MLK & Killer, i was in jail, had to wait till i came home, but i still heard them over the phone from my family !)
bet uncut ... Imma Tell video... then bought anghellic reperation.. then on.
I WAS LIKE 11 SO LIKE 7 years ago in 6th grade. homeboy had his walkman on him 1 day. let me listen to WORST ENEMY and i bumped tech ever since and now ima st8 up technician thankx to my homies alex and adam
So I knew who Tech N9ne was back when Absolute Power first hit, but I didn't listen to hiphop/rap at that time. My friend gave me a free ticket to the Strictly Strange Tour with Kottonmouth Kings and Hed PE and I had to go for those two, but Tech was the shit and put on a better show than both of them and made me a fan instantly! The acid I was on helped too but it's legit, Tech N9ne is teh shit!
I first started listining to them after I started datin a guy who raped and was workin on a mix CD with his friends to send to Tech.
Heard him on "The Anthem" then a couple years later read all these reviews about AngHellic (Jcor one). Copped it the day it dropped, been down since.
i'm assuming he's now in jail for all that raping he did

Tech N9ne Speaks On R.A. The Rugged Man, ‘Holla-Loo-Yuh’, Not Giving A F*ck [VIDEO]

When it comes to emcees other than Tech N9ne that are quick-spitting, hyper-intricate, and actually have something to say, it’s pretty much impossible to leave R.A.
