I first heard him on the Gang Related soundtrack back in 97/98, but kinda lost track of him until I found The Calm Before The Storm and The Worst at a Sam Goody in Nebraska. Been checkin' for him ever since.

Alpha Dog put me on him...so ironic cuz alpha dog is my favorite movie and from it spurred my favorite artist...TECH N9NE
Back in '02 I came back into my hometown (ABQ) and was at my cousins house...he was on his computer and was like check this shit out...it was a video of the stage performace of Einstein...with everyone up on stage ( Tech, Krizz, Kutt...maybe Grant Rice, could be wrong) and they were all bustin and dancin with there towels n shit. Thought it was dope as fuck...got back to Houston...and downloaded a few tracks ( Victory/Now its on)...and would bump those along with a whole bunch of other mainstream shit while I would cut my lawn n shit...probably 2 years later...i got the FULL siccness!!!
Like Ghost i'z I never get tired of telling the fateful day I first heard Tech N9NE... I remember like it was yesterday lol... I was 13 and had enough money to buy Walkman, cd players were the shit back then, I went to SixFlags mall in a city by where I live. Went to a electronics shop bought it for $40, took me awhile to save that up, I didnt expect to pay so much so I would have to save some money to buy a cd. As I was walking out the mall a dude gave me a cd and told me I could have it. Little did I know that it would change my life lol it was the Beef soundtrack sampler thing... The first song In there Stamina I was fucking hooked. Then This Ring then Im A Playa, then bam 7 fuckin Days (I never knew that song was that old) well anyways I listend to the cd for like 8 months before I could find one of techs cd (absolute power) which I bought in IDP Music, some local music store... sadly I lost the cd..I've asked around but I can't find it it said Beef on the cover but behind it you could see SS urban legends in red... Anyways that's the story when i I first heard to Strange......... Pretty long story
heard imma playa a while ago...didn't know it wuz tech n9ne....

then heard T9X wen i wuz 15...fell in love with it...heard the rest of the cd my cuzzin let me barrow....nd it took off from there.
Gang Related too...

although ppl have asked this on threads MANY times, i just dont get tired of the story of "how did i hear of tech n9ne", lol.

i first heard tech when i saw him on the Sway & King Tech video "The Anthem", back in 1999, the video scene and the verse were just off the hook, me and my friends would listen and learn the verse by heart and rap it all the time messin around, i had never heard no stuff like that. Then i searched for him (back when downloading was first making itself known) and couldnt find anything, nor any cd's in any stores. So as time went on i began to find tracks on KAZA and Lime Wire, until ABSOLUTE POWER "slacker" & "Imma Tell" hit the radio stations, then i bought the album, found Anghellic, and looked up "The Calm Before The Storm" (wich i paid $50 for on half bay !) and "The Worst" and bought them. rest is history, first day albums are out, i bought em as well as dvd's (except MLK & Killer, i was in jail, had to wait till i came home, but i still heard them over the phone from my family !)
Thug pit w/ icp, bone, kmk, and esham an serial killa w/ twiztid Both really Dope Songs turned me on to tech 9.

Gatheing of the Juggalos, Woo.. Woo! MCL Tech
seems kinda lame that when you were in jail youd rather here some rapper over the phone than you own familys voices.... maybe thats just me lol
