Story time.
First discovered tech n9ne summer of '06. I was up in the attic goin through shit to see what I was gonna take to college. Opened a box of my brothers shit and there was a spool of cd's that were all beat to shit. First two said ebk and the third said tech n9ne; lower case and slightly faded. Don't know why but I grabbed tech and a bunch more stuff from the attic. Left the next morning for a 5 drive from Portland to Wenatchee Washington. After "my ghetto report card", "east 1999", and "kamikaze" the tech cd popped in (those confused; 6 disc changer). The following songs played. Breathe, devil boy, be warned, stamina, absolute power, tormented, Mitch bade, and yada, yada, yada. The rest of the cd was other artist. I replayed all 8 songs the rest of the trip, breathe was basically stuck on repeat!! As soon as I got to Wenatchee I went and bought anghellic and absolute power. Shortly after "evereready" came out. I was fuckin hooked. Been listinin religiously since. And caught every concert 06.

How'd you get hooked?

Beginning of sophomore year (mid-October), I was talking to one of my white friends about rap. I was into Eminem, and other rappers I had found through him (Lose Yourself was the song that got me into rap). He told me he was into underground stuff. DGAF, KMK, Tech N9ne, etc. I told him, "Tech N9ne sounds familiar, but I don't think I've heard anything by him." He told me to check it out, so I did. First tracks I heard and downloaded were Caribou Lou, Riot Maker, Victory, and maybe a couple others I just can't remember. I was like "This dude's sick." Not long after, K.O.D. was released and I loved the darkness. K.O.D and Strange Music Box all day. Within another month, I felt like I had been listening to Tech for life.

Now, backtracking, I remember listening to The Anthem (because, of course, it had Eminem) and being addicted to Tech's verse. Had no clue who he was, but he had my favorite verse on the track, with his crazy flow and lyrics. Blew my mind when I was listening to the track a year later and realized that it had been Tech the whole time.

All 6's and 7's was the first album I ever payed for. First music I ever payed for, in fact. I've never been a rich kid, and I've always felt like buying music would be a waste of my well-saved money. But, when All 6's and 7's was coming, I said to myself, "I can't do this to Tech and illegally download his music again. This is gonna be the album that gets him recognition, and I want to be a part of that."

Even though I was in debt to my parents after buying a new mic, I payed the $10 dollars to buy the album off of Amazon.

Technician for life.

Madden 06, The Beast. Hooked since then.
The first time i heard of tech was on madden, and i thought damn that shits hot and let it be. but when everready came out, i was on a hiphop website and one of the top songs at the time was caribou lou. I downloaded it with no questions, and after the first verse i was HOOKED. i downloaded every one of his albums that night, and checked back about every week for info on new albums comin out. I got Killer and thats when i knew.. not only was he my favorite artist, but the greatest MC of all time.
I 1st heard Tech in December of 09. I was looking for instrumentals on youtube & I came across a video of someones beat remix for Blown Away soo I looked up the original to see the difference & I was truly blown away. It was like nothing I ever heard before & the cover for Sickology 101 was amazing. I loved the song & I originally thought Tech N9ne was like an electro hip hop group because of the autotune and the word "tech" in the name lmao but then I looked up Tech N9ne on wikipedia and i learned everything about him. Then I looked up all his albums on myspace & I was hooked. I made ever single song on my profile a Tech song & since then, I've bought every Tech N9ne album, most of Strange Music's other releases, & I'm gonna go to my 1st Tech N9ne concert next month =D i'm mad excited to meet my favorite MC & biggest influence
Well I seen the video for Imma Tell way back when it came out out I never bumped his shit too much after that then I heard Tech on Madden what ever year The Beast was on there and bought Everready and the rest is history.
I knew of tech way back when, about 03,04 because the first time I heard of him was from my cousin I think was later but I can't remember but he was rockin an old tech n9ne tshirt but I didn't pay attention to it, but imma play was like the first song I heard by him but I didn't get into tech till years later, than my cousin came over one time and he was on my computer and he was bumpin caribou Lou than I jus peeped that song didn't listen to any others but than when killer came out a couple of my friends were talkin about the concert when he was on tour around that time and they had the samplers so I peeped that and it was everybody move and drill team that got me into tech and I've been hooked ever since
this.

Tech's been a recognizable name around here for years, since I was elementary school. I wasn't too big on rap when i was younger, only listened to Chamillionaire and a few others. I remember kids bumping "I'm A Playa" (terrrrible song) in midle school and thinking why would anyone listen to this gay shit? My brother listened to him non-stop so I always heard a lot of him just never really got into it. I didn't really become a fan until around Fire & Ice, after that show he's always been a favorite.
i heard of him thru using the search bar, courtesy of the internet

10 yrs ago 17 heard einstein lyrics and then shortly after slacker ... then the next yr downloaded a bunch of shit and got about all my friends but one stubborn asshole that like mainstream to much to convert to listening to tech... but probally everready cd cahnge my life and ever since that day i at least get 5 or more tech songs in a day been to 7 concerts 4 meet and greets own every single strange cd and convert people over every day

Tech N9ne Speaks On R.A. The Rugged Man, ‘Holla-Loo-Yuh’, Not Giving A F*ck [VIDEO]

When it comes to emcees other than Tech N9ne that are quick-spitting, hyper-intricate, and actually have something to say, it’s pretty much impossible to leave R.A. The Rugged Man’s name out of that short list, so it comes as no surprise that the hip hop Gods eventually brought the two together. On “Holla Loo Yuh” [...]
