House of 1,000 Corpses was fucking terrible, he managed to do better with Devil's Rejects (which I avoided for years because of HO1KC); but holy Christ did that movie suck, I was pissed to...I waited forever for that movie.

It was basically just a reformatting of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre,  unoriginal and uninspired...Devil's Rejects was actually pretty damn good though, that one surprised me; that shit was suspenseful.

He was paying homage to the 70s style horror flick. DR plays almost entirely different. Just same characters. I thought that was a brilliant use of contrast from dark and dreary 70s style night to bright and sunny current day. Both of them super creepy for completely different reasons. He either had it well planned or I'm giving him way too much credit lol. Did you catch the Halloween remake?

The problem was HO1KC was more than just a homage: Crazy family, derelict house, middle of no where, severely challenged beast of man, human skin is worn as mask, girl thinks she gets away and is returned to said psychos; if I don't define the end detail, at this point you can't tell which movie I'm describing. Just didn't bring a single thing to the table, take out Haig and Mosely; you haven't got anything, even with them you hardly have anything.

 

And yeah, the Halloween remake was cool; now if he called it House of Just a Few Corpses, it wouldn't have been...at least he acknowledged the movie was a remake with that one.

i forgot all about high tension 2, it was french dubbed in english. if anyone hasnt seen it go find it. it will definately get ur heart pounding

There was  a movie called High Tension that was pretty good. It's half english and half french, no idea why but intense.
