IMO Raw is better than TGMP, Shock Treatment, and Automatic. That's me though.

Album of the year? I dunno bout that. I hadnt really listen to Hop before Raw, but i copped it cuz everyone is so in love with it. I agree that the dude is REALLY talented and definitely infuses real knowledge into his lyrics. But is anyone else reminded of a young pissed off eminem? Not thats a bad thing, im just saying. It seems like he's just pissed off at ruthless and EZ's wife, pissed off at his so called homies who didnt support him before, pissed off at all rappers he thinks are bad, pissed off at the religious, and pissed off at girls who want to fuck? Com' on people! Whats wrong with a girl who wants to let you in? Like Tech said, "For them to let you inside them is a fucking compliment!". And as far as tech working with him goes, i can definitley see it happening. Songs like "Nocturnal Rainbows" and "I Cant Decide" totally remind me of tech's concepts. But the major difference i see between Hop and Tech, that i feel may keep them from collaborating, is that Hop has no problem naming names and talkin shit and hating on other rappers in the game. Not to say that i dont agree with him that "Soulja Boy has a corny flow" or "if i was crazy i would pick up the mic and use it, and tell dwayne carter that i really like his music", but when he's calling out big names that tech is beginning to associate with and trying to make money with, that may just cause tech to hesitate to collab with him and especially give him doubts on signing him. Like tech says, "I dont hate, i congratulate. haters need to get theirs."

And i dont really think there is any slappers or bangers on this album, just good songs.

I do like the album, which has become harder and harder for me with non tech/strange albums. I've been listening to it for two days. But album of the year? I think he needs a little more variety and a little less hate to take that title. Just sayin.

That was a good thought out response Colin P. Lol. I do agree about the whole "pissed off" thing...but this is only his second official album, and I'm sure there are lots more to come now that he knows he'll get the support. Also I'd like to add...we'll be seeing a Funk Volume/Strange collaboration very soon, and it's gonna be sick. So Tech will DEFINITELY know Hopsin if he still doesn't yet.

The dude is being Real. He is pissed off about his situation. How can he rap about partying or dumb shit he doesn't have, like fancy cars, when the guy almost died because he was so fucked over in his record deal? It's like Saying That KOD needed more variety and not be a sad/dark album.

its not like saying that at all, because Tech has done the variety. He's already made a bunch of good albums that are dark, light, happy, sad, gangsta, spirtual, etc...but when you are really trying to break onto the scene you need to be able to show those who are listening that you are more than a pissed off lyricist. But again, i will say he is REALLY GOOD. No fault on his skill, just his redundant content.

Tech and Trav know who Hopsin, Swizz, and Damien are. They have had a face to face conversation. I also know that Tech and Trav were sent copies of the album before anyone else. They have yet to comment about what they think of RAW yet though. Also saw that someone asked Kali what he thought of him, and Kali said he didnt know anything about him. But, I do know that all of Funk Volume are BIG Kaliko fans.
