Yup I heard it. Nicely done KC. Although your booing of Cano was pretty goony

Anyone who has turned Sportscenter on at any point this season should know Trumbo's name. Him and Trout are 2 of the best young players in baseball.

I from KC, but I'm a Dodgers fan.  I could care less about Butler making the HR Derby, but the fact that you would call Trumbo a household name and a proven slugger is hilarious.

It's a joke that KC fans are mad that their guy who is tied for 16th in the AL for homers didnt make the HR Derby. On top of that (even though he's been a pretty solid player in his career), he's a no-name to non KC fans. Cano, Bautista, Fielder, and Trumbo are all household names and proven sluggers. There were many players more deserving Butler him that didnt get picked either.

Home team fans staying loyal - WTG KC!!

"But unlike those trips to Boston, where the booing is a byproduct of a long history of a bitter rivalry, Cano brought this round of vitriol on himself. Cano, captain of the American League’s Derby squad, initially said he’d like to include a Royal on his team, and Butler seemed like the obvious choice.

But then, as Cano explains it, he called Albert Pujols to see if he would participate. Pujols declined since he wasn’t playing in the game, and instead suggested his Angels teammate, Mark Trumbo.

Cano followed the advice of his fellow Dominican, and ended up picking Trumbo for the fourth and final spot on the AL’s Derby team, effectively leaving Butler out in the cold."

No shit I fell asleep after first round I wish I woulda heard some tech

Aww poor millionaire got booed by the hometown fans, smh people are crying too much about this, shit I wish we had a pro stadium to boo players in :-(

This entire conversation should be on my baseball thread. What the fuck J9X? Lol But anyway, agreed with Cole. Trumbo has been beasting all season. Cano said somethin along the lines of this at the post-home run derby press conference.... I to went to Angel's Stadium early one day to talk to Pujol's and happened to catch Trumbo's BP. Thats when I knew I had to have him on my team. He was hitting the ball really far.... Also, Id like to share with you all a little comparison of Billy Butler to Mark Trumbo this season.... At the All Star Break, Butler has played in 83 games with 16 HRs, 52 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 13 doubles, 2 stolen bases, and is batting with a .290 average. Now Trumbo at the All Star Break has played in 77 games, with 22 HRs, 57 RBIs, 42 runs scored, 15 doubles, 4 stolen bases, and is batting .306. I would of picked Trumbo over Butler too.

Sorry N shit. How about those Giants today though?!

Until he is consistent for a few more years I'm not going to consider him a "beast" or a household name.  Especially in today's world, people are quick to anoint someone as "The Next Big Thing".  Look at Tony Romo, Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin to name a few.  Everyone was on their dicks acting like they were future Hall of Famer's, and look at all of them now.  Romo's star is fading in Dallas, quickly, Tebow got shipped out of town for a QB who just had three neck surgeries and may never be the same and Lin burned out quicker than all of them.  He was King of SportsCenter for maybe two months and then you didn't hear shit about him until the offseason.

Sorry cole but to say Trumbo is a household name is a stretch. Yes he is a great young talent and has potiential to become a household name, but not quite there yet. He is just having a breakout year happens all the time. Some keep it rolling others fall off.

To all you stupid fuckers who think that Royals fans booed Cano simply because he didn't pick Butler, you are wrong.  Royals fans booed Cano because in an interview with ESPN he specifically said that he would pick Butler since KC was the hosting city.  Due to this statement, many fans, including numerous people that I know, went and bought tickets, expecting to see Butler.  Then, Cano ends up not picking Butler and everyone who went and bought tickets expecting to see him, don't really give a shit about the contestants and are pissed of at Cano.  He deserves what he got.  Stop whining.  He's a professional athlete.  If he can't handle some screaming fans, he needs to find a new career.  Drunken rant over/.
