Could be worse. He could have used the knife on you and you could of got fucked up, or worse killed. Dude sounds crazy! You need a REAL man that doesn't try to kill his women. WTF? Tell the truth and then find a new guy.

Now if this is your first real crime you really dont gotta sweat it because you will just get probation, If you have a history of this then I would strongly suggest you plea down. I had this exact same charge you got because I ran over this swerve with my car and they concidered my car a deadly weapon. LAME. But anyway I got this down to a third degree assault. :) Did 9 months for it though. If you seriously hurt the dude then you might as well be prepared to do some time girl.

If it was really a butchers knife then he'd be in for attempted murder charge, not just assault with a deadly weapon...Since its assault and you said the weapon was a butchers knife, im assuming he stabbed or cut you (assault) with the butchers knife(the deadly weapon). So to me, if I were the D.A. I'd go after attempted murder, not just assault with a deadly weapon..Or you just lying..who knows.
