wow, this thread got attention fast lol, I don't want to get into a huge debate, 'n I should probably read your replies after this first but do you really think homosexuality is a choice? I'm not gonna call you and idiot but wake up and enter the 21st century, if you think being gay is a choice tell me the day you woke up and chose to be straight. It's not something you choose, trust me, I'm gay lol. Especially as a guy, you don't need to make a choice, your dick will tell what you like and don't like. I didn't just wake up 'n go, "I think I'll like guys today, maybe girls for a week, and then back to guys for a couple months." It's like saying "I don't agree with you being black or hispanic, but it doesn't bother me so I'll let you live that way if you want" lol, I mean, I guess one of the only differences is you can't hide your race like you can sexuality

I did not know that, props for saying so in the face of his hate. And also for adding undeniable proof to my point of view that gay people do not choose their sexual orientation. Be prepared for him to call you a liar of some sort however.

if you understood genetics you'd understand why this is wrong, it's not like there's one gene per trait, the "gay gene" could be the same as the "tall gene" it's not a one-per deal, gay people aren't the only ones who can pass the trait, there are many theories on how the gay gene has been passed down, one being that under certain circumstances the gene presents itself as a certain trait, 'n under other circumstances it presents as homosexuality, 'n gays can't have kids? how many politicians with kids have came out after a scandal? gay's can and do have kids all the time, they're just not always "out"

If there was a homosexual gene, how would it be passed from generation to generation? Obviously homosexual partners do not reproduce, and thus they cannot carry their "gay gene" on (as Siikez would claim). A homosexual male could donate his sperm to a homosexual female's egg I suppose, and hypothetically produce a homosexual child with that logic, but that's not a very common practice nor is it where most homosexuals arise. The majority of homosexuals come from two heterosexual parents, because only heterosexual intercourse can produce a child. Therefore for you to say some sort of "gay gene" if you will caused an infant at birth to begin the course of his life as a homosexual is completely ridiculous.

That's why when Siikez was at a standstill and agreed to disagree it was nearly his only option at that point. Throughout history up until today it's always been perceived and accepted as a choice (which I still firmly believe). This ideology/research/theory (take your pick) is trying to suggest otherwise and hasn't been able to scientifically prove what it's claiming, it only can suggest. They're going against common acceptance and quite frankly common sense as in their side needs to be proved to be accepted where as the former does not. You can't sit there and call me ignorant because of my beliefs (which are commonly accepted) when there's not even basis of solid proof behind yours even if you'd like to call it such.

thanks, lol yeah, well I mean, it's understandable people wouldn't know, people just assume someone else is straight 'til they have reason to think otherwise, 'n there's not really a reason to come out on the forums just randomly, but I think it fit here, to help and make a point haha. I mean, I don't care if I get called a liar, but I don't think that'll be his response, I expect something more like "well, maybe it wasn't a choice for you, but it might be for others" which I think is at least a debatable point. But imo, if there's ever a choice, it's cuz the person is bi-sexual to some degree and is just making a preference, but I mean, I can't see where anyone ever made the choice to be straight or gay, idk, it just doesn't make any sense, I suppose we choose what foods we like as well. I know that's not the most equivalent comparison, I'm just saying. It's pretty much mapped out for us, I don't know why anyone would choose to be gay, like who would put up with the bigotry (although it applies to now as well, think about past generations here, like WAY back) and discrimination for that? Yeah good timing lolol. I wouldn't be surprised if he claimed to know your feelings more than you do, he even said he wouldn't have a relationship with his future son if he was gay. Yeah I've studied natural selection, evolution, instinct and genetics, tried explaining it all to him but he doesn't understand. And thinks that it's a single gene with that needs to be passed. Which I guess means he doesn't believe in children that are born with brown hair while their parents have blonde hair lol. I've asked him when he chose to be straight aswell, he said he never had to and that it was genetic and "that's how it is for everybody unless they choose to be gay". As far as him saying I'm homophobic for calling straight people that I'm arguing with "fag", to me it's the same as if I'm calling him a bitch (as two separate examples), I don't hate women or gay people. I just know he wouldn't like to be called one lmao.
