I'm all for listening to new shit, and I prefer underground artists. So I was just wondering who everybody else's favorite rapper/rap group was that nobody else has heard of but yourselves. (Or at least not many people) Basically, I just wanna hear some new stuff so throw some names, songs, or videos out there if you don't mind.
I'd have to go with Prof for my favorite rapper, and Soulcrate Music for my favorite rap group. Prof is a little different, but he is crazy talented and unique. You can download a lot of his music right here..

Permalink Reply by DJ605 on August 14, 2012 at 2:12pm Jon Connor is dope. I loved The People's Rapper LP. I didn't like While You Were Sleeping as much though. However, if you do an entire mixtape over Eminem beats..it's probably going to be more appealing than the other stuff you put out.

My 2 artists arent people that Nobody knows about, but more people should
First, JON CONNOR
Second, Lecrae Yes, He's labeled as a christian rapper, but He's dope. His music isnt preachy or anything like that. Just good Hip-Hop.
gotta say, ive been a prof fan for a while now. sadly i missed this thread when it was posted so ill just bump it with one of his newer tracks. then back to search for the thread i was looking for.

After hearing Under Control I checked his site and found you can stream all his music. So I did that for about a week, then bought The Patent followed by Itanimulli the week or so after. I just got Lambs to the Slaughter this paycheck and Ill be getting the monstrous 46 track Foundation next check.
The dude is so dope. Especially The Patent. Itanimulli is also very good. Id rate both solid 10s. Id second this underground rapper and recommend that anyone who has never heard of him take a look. He raps about police brutality, corporate corruption, etc. Its all about getting people to wake up to reality and look at what is going on around us.
Mansanto has quickly risen on my favorite rappers list. I love Tech, but for the last few albums I feel like he has run out of things to say almost. Monsanto is talking about real shit that I wish Tech would address.

For all those who love political rap like me this guy Payday Monsanto is very high on my list. An educated rapper who demands an open mind to truly appreciate his message and talent.
