Permalink Reply by ֆӄʐ ♔ on October 9, 2010 at 4:18am Let's see, Em is by far the more complex of the two when it comes to the basic elements of rapping. So If you're talking about things like punchlines, alliteration, and wordplay then Em wins easy. IF you want to go into lyrical content and cultural impact then of course Pac takes the win over Em and every rap artist in the entire culture of hiphop.(imo) Eminem is better at rapping and would win a battle but Pac is the better rap artist. Em wins the battle but Pac makes timeless albums if that makes any sense to you. Just my opinion though, this is all of course up for debate.

Permalink Reply by Dukecityspecialist on October 9, 2010 at 5:57pm You do know that Pac was poor growing up, slept in homeless shelters, and had a drug addict mom, right? Just because he went to good schools doesnt mean he didnt have it rough growing up.
Scuba Diver said:Tupac cannot compare to Em period. Em is the greatest rapper dead or alive. Tupac could not even personify a rapper. He went to good schools, private schools, and then rapped about how he came from the gutter, and he was a thug.

Permalink Reply by Vlad on October 9, 2010 at 7:41pm now most of yall probably wont like this but, Pac is over rated. The media has glorified his death so much that people think he's god. For his time he was the best no doubt, but hip hop evolves and there are lots of artists out rightnow that would easily compare against him. Em has better punchlines and word play, Pac is more poetic.
Permalink Reply by Dukecityspecialist on October 9, 2010 at 8:31pm I disagree. The impact that Pac had on the culture, the realness and depth that he brought, and, like you said, how poetic his rhymes were puts him notches above anybody else that I can think of. Yes, there are rappers who have better punch lines and wordplay but that wasnt what Pac brought that made him so significant. He integrated poetry and meaning in his lyrics in a way that still hasnt been matched. I mean, what rapper can match the poetry of If I Die 2nite? What rapper's lyrics have been discussed in college literature classes besides Pac? People can say Eminem has better punch lines, Biggie told better stories, Tech has better flow, Nas is a better lyricist, or whatever. But nobody could touch the impact that Pac had on hip hop. You can listen to what he talked about fifteen years ago and it still fits and is significant. MMLP is less than ten years old and it cant really do that. Eminem is a great rapper but Pac was a great hip hop artist. His death may have been overplayed by the media but they can never overplay what he brought during his life.
