Here's what I think:

  • I feel that Graveyard Shift is better than Overtime Shift, it slapped more, though OS edged it lyrically.
  • The tracks that were meant to be the bangers (like "Bitch" off of Day Shift) could have been better, but I can get down to them.
  • E-40 sounds tight lyrically, new sick ass slang comin' out his mouth as usual lol. He repeated some lyrics from other tracks in OS and GS but I'm overlooking that. He didn't say "biatch!" at all in either of the albums!
  • Tech's verse on "Fried" didn't sound like Tech at all... it sounded a lil weird for him. But he still sounded sick and it's about damn time that Tech was on an E-40 album!
  • On "Serious" I think E-40 didn't utilise 100k on T-Pain to the max because the hook didn't sound up to scratch and there wasn't enough musical harmony in the beat to cover that. Also... T-Pain sounded like a MASSIVE freshie lol.
  • Big shocks: Too $hort, Snoop Dogg and other major Bay Area artists like Mistah F.A.B. were NOT featured. And FINALLY Stresmatic [of The Federation] does a verse instead of just hooks for 40. The Click featured on OS and it was great to hear them again after so long.

Overall I think 40's done a real solid job on this double album. It's just too sick! There are some deep street tracks and some slaps on there, making a nice balance. Now I think he should focus on releasing a solid single album for 2012.

What do y'all think of the new E-40 shit?

Yes please. I hate how they are "album only" on iTunes, so you have to buy the full albums in order to get the bonus track. I bought the hard copies, so there's no way in hell im re-buying both albums just to get an extra 4 songs. I remember 40 and iTunes did the same thing with his last two releases, and luckily someone on here bought the iTunes version and uploaded the bonus tracks.

You need a "nigga" as part of that first song title.

Both albums are pretty dope, lets just say its what i expect from a 40 album.

Both albums were amazing IMO. I liked Day and Night shift, but these blow those 2 away.I think Graveyard Shift edges out Overtime Shift, but barely.

Fav songs from both: Barbarian, Trapped, E Forty, Streets Dont Love Nobody, Takin Em Back, Back and Forth, Fried, My Lil Grimey Nigga, Graveyard Shift, Spooky, Dont Try This At Home, Fuck Em, Drugs, Mr Flamboyant 2k11, Gunz, I Am Your & In The Morning. Only songs I wasn't really feelin that much were Tuff Times, Serious, Me & My Bitch, & Lookin Back. The rest were good like Bad Bitch, 43, That Candy Paint, Concrete, My Shit Bang, etc...

Overall, these albums are just fantastic. 40 is a damn beast. The beats are way better than on Day & Night Shift, and they all bump like crazy. These will definitely be 2 of the best albums of year easily.

not according to iTunes lol
