Because they are competing services... neither would gain anything by allowing that.

Just wondering because I see no reason why it couldnt happen or why both sides wouldnt do it because in the long run they both would make more money...but why not make it so that people with an Xbox can play those who own a PS3 online....all they would need should be a common server im sure other things too but I think the idea of talking playing someone online with the opposite system would take talking shit and online gaming into another level.

lol are you really bringing that up like its an equal argument?? it was only down for a week, and the reason for the downtime was because so many 360s were bought on Christmas that Xbox Live actually reached its capacity. They had downtime because they had to expand the servers to allow more connections. And it wasnt even fully down dude. It was laggy and slow for the most part, but you were still able to connect and do some things. Also, nothing got hacked into and no one's personal information or credit card numbers were being stolen. This PSN issue is 100000000x worse

Really? i have a really hard time keeping the discs the way they came and im crazy about that shit i have all the right cleaners and all but it just seems like it never fails i keep them in good condition:( i prefer the PS3 over mostly because of the feel of the controller(due to growing up with ps1 and ps2) and i am huge on graphics because i love sports games and sony has the better graphic chip.

Xbox games become unplayable after becoming severely scratched from over use of games and Blu rays don't thats a big reason why I got a ps3

Thankfully my PS3 has been collecting dust for a year, and my Xbox is doing just fine. Can't think of a single reason why I would even use my PS3 over my Xbox
i had ps1 and ps 2 and the org. xbox i loved it i know ps2 was better then the org. xbox but i knew it was a better gaming system just didnt have the best game with this xbox 360 i think the remote is way better then the ps3 one and has better overall games then ps they got teenage game xbox more 20+ games so thats me i has ps and tried the ps3 but thought xbox was better for gaming and i said b4 ps3 is better overall system i agree but to play games xbox all the way

See i have a ps3 and my bro has a xbox 360 so i basically own both since we live in the same house. from my experiences i can say that ps3 definately is the better gaming system because the graphics, and features are significantly better. But i feel the obvious statement here is that xbox live is much better, besides the cost of course. Also, because xbox 360 came out first more of my friends have it than ps3, so it gets annoying sometimes..when i want to game with friends. just my insight on the competition.

PS3 is way better then the Xbox 360. The PS3 has blue-ray, more memory, free internet, the games go quicker cause you gotta download them the first time you put them in, better graphics, and better games. The Xbox 360 has more people on online I take It? They also have rooms where you can Mic chat witch is proble nice. Thats not a big up considering when I play online I always find other people to play with, and people like to text anyways.

As for games the PS3 has:

God Of War

Little Big Planet

Demon Soul's (Good game IMO)

Infamous

Resistance

Kill Zone 3

Socom 4

Uncharted

Xbox 360 has:

Gears Of War

Halo

Fable

Thats the only good games I know, feel free to add to any of these lists.

Downfall for the PS3 is its expensive. Good things for the Xbox 360 is it's cheaper, bigger controller witch proble feels better in the hands for most people. Downfall for the Xbox 360 is your gotta pay monthly, and you get the ring of death! PS3 has a sweet movie thing called crackle, and netflix. I think Xbox 360 has wifi?

I think this about covers almost everything.

Demons souls is pretty dope. I've had it for a while but was preoccupied with black-ops for a little bit. It's coming back online with a few perks. I posted this on the other thread but heres a link to the playstation blog.
