Permalink Reply by Nunya Biznazz on October 3, 2012 at 9:34pm Ability and desire are two different things, and the question is, why would they want to? I've never been one of those ppl who wants to be bangin whatever album everybody else is at the moment, so if Strange went mainstream I think that they would lose their appeal for a lot of the long-time fans. Underground and independent is where it's at, and you can still be very successful without selling out and becoming the next YMCMB. Strange is already doing all the right things to foster their fan base by offering things that the majority of other labels do not, such as autographed CD's for no additional charge and not overcharging for exclusive merch even though they could price gouge for that stuff if they wanted to. Personally, I don't want to hear Strange all over the radio, I want to hear them in my car or in my headphones. Fuck the mainstream/commercial garbage. I say Strange should continue to run the independent game and forget mainstream.
Permalink Reply by JetblacK on October 4, 2012 at 12:20am If you read the latest Seven interview about producing Kelvin he talks about how they're pushing for radio with the beats he's making, that's why Kutt's EP had alot of mainstream sounding beats. Not sure if they're going for radio with everyone or just Kutt but either way, it seems like it will happen eventually.

Permalink Reply by Nunya Biznazz on October 4, 2012 at 4:38am I disagree. Mainstream is a place, it's where the sellouts live. If you think indie/underground artists and labels can't "get money" then you would be wrong. Last I checked, Strange does pretty damn well on tour, and live shows are where the money is at anyway.

Permalink Reply by Austin Smith on October 4, 2012 at 5:20am Its not like I can go to Mainstream and kick it there with some homies, its a lifestyle of the mainstream media tries to put out, and going mainstream means your trying to sell that image. Tech is just trying to blow up get money and rap. I was implying in my first post that tech gets money

Permalink Reply by Nunya Biznazz on October 4, 2012 at 5:38am No, mainstream isn't a location on a map, I wasn't being that literal. The rest of your post is basically what I'm saying. I still don't wanna hear Tech on the radio every hour and see him performing on every talk show, I'd then have to find something else to listen to because I'm not a sheep.
