when one finds something annoying, it is based on the personal preference of the individual... so why are you asking US if something is annoying to YOU?

I fuckin hate dj's that don't give rappers & emcee's their space on a cd and play a bunch of stupid fucking sounds and their name over the artist(green lantern, whoo kid, scream), to name a few.

yeah it's annoying.. I was too into the CD to realize they were saying it, but in the back of my mind I wondered why they would say that repetitively because its kinda stupid and is unnecessary for Tech's music hearing it in the background.

Actually, I believe one major reason its done is so that it cannot be bootlegged as easily since it's given away for free and someone else can't take the credit. Sure people can still sell it, but there's a less likely chance someone will pay big bucks for an album that has tags all over it. And, yeah, it does spread the name.
I guess I don't find it annoying because I'm used to it since I have been involved in the world of mixtapes. Too me, it's like asking "why does a lot of hip hop have so many 808 snares and kicks, they are annoying and overused!" irreverent if this is the case, there's little way to avoid it, it seems to come with the territory, so you can either listen grit your teeth and try to focus on why you appreciate it, or turn it off and find something that doesn't bother you.
