Does anyone else think that Cognito's "Outcast" sounds similar to Eminem's "Say Goodbye To Hollywood"

they both have 2 diff styles and the way they deliver, and personally, Cog is just more down to earth, i have more respect for Cog
No.
no
on the strange days 2010 CD, "thats just the way it goes" sounds like "kill you" by eminem. What makes them different is that cognito's beats are melodic (midi) and sound slightly different then the actual eminem beat. But they do sound strikingly simlar. I admit, I dont really listen to cognito, so this was the first time I heard the song. Whats up with the swagger jacking?
ok this could just be me but eminem can fuck off he ain't got shit on cognito!
this is cognito's first time with a legit label don't be so quick to dismiss him as an feminatic
he can really rap n gots real shit to say
Cognito is dope, but are you serious?

hmmm, can any1 get me the instrumental from Outcast?
Aight, now those that know me understand that I NEVER get in the middle of topics that have to do with comparing me with anything regarding Eminem BUT outta respect for my fans, friends( Strange Music supporters ect...) and EVEN the haters I will make ONE post comment on this subject.
Ever since I started getting a buzz around 10 years ago I have ALWAYS had to watch the way I deliver, write and perform music so that I didnt get that label of being a "wanna be Slim Shady". The cats I grew up with will always tell ya that I have had the same spit since I was coming up in the bay area at 15 years old.
SINCE there aint too many white boys out there that spit on a MAJOR level, meaning that are actually signed to labels that are making a buzz( no disrespect to any rappers that are RIPPIN BUT just aint got they chance yet), any white rapper that drops will be compared to Em. I dont mean always because of how they sound or the kinda beats they use BUT I mean because they ARE white. I admit that Eminem has set the bar VERY HIGH FOR ALL RAPPERS over the last 10 years INCLUDING any white rappers that drop.
So that brings me to my road blocks......I do NOT wanna EVER go down as "Cognito is the next Eminem" OR "Cognito is trying to follow Eminems style ect..." . I can PROMISE EVERYONE that IF I wasn't a white boy, BUT did the exact same album I just did (AUTOMATIC) NO ONE WOULD bring this issue up.
NO REAL hip hop fan can say that EVERY song on the radio, and EVERY song on MTV ect is light years different than the song that played right before it. NO one...If I talk about baby mama drama, or if I talk about poppin pills, Im talking about the REAL SHIT that I go through on a daily basis. If I held back ANY creative music BECAUSE I didnt wanna be compared to Eminem I wouldnt be giving myself OR my die hard fans the REAL COGNITO. I admit that I AM an Eminem fan, BUT I also admit that I am a fan of Tech, I am a fan of Cypress Hill, I am a fan of Marylin Manson and I love MANY old school and new school artists. When I listen to the radio now days EVERY FUCKIN song sounds the same. JUST like if I listen to a COUNTRY MUSIC STATION, I would lose a fuckin MILL if I had to guess who was who.
I also believe HIP HOP is one of the worlds best tools for bringing EVERYONE together. Hip Hop is for everyone no matter who you are... I dont give a fuck who you are. Old, young, black, white, asian, latin, christian, catholic OR WHATEVER.... you have at least ONE RAP song in your life that you LOVE. I dont want my name to be said ONLY when comparing white rappers, I want it to be said when speaking about HIP HOP artists PERIOD.
THIS IS NOT a response to ANYONE SPECIFIC on this forum by any means. I appreciate EVERYONES OPINION to the upmost, I mean that! Those that can listen to my music with an open mind and NOT listen to it to compare me to anyone are the people I respect. That DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO LIKE ME, it just means you understand music and the blood and sweat an artist puts into it. If you REALLY want me to go through a list of songs/artists that SOUND like another artist I can do that, there really isn't a point to BUT thats what it is. There are HELLA artists that I could do that with. Same goes for R&B artists.....c'mon now, we ALL know there are about 100 rappers and artists that sound like the next person. You would be LYING YOUR ASS OFF if you said there wasn't. The situation Im in though stands out a little more because there aren't A LOT of whiteboys signed to labels that are pushing them.
To wrap shit up I do wanna say I appreciate all y'all! Everyone on here has made this a great year on and off the road for me and I can PROMISE that this is just the beginning. Thats a promise STRANGERS!
To answer ya question Rfc Stewart, NO I didnt do this track with the producer "Seven" with ANY thought of trying to make it sound like anything Eminem has done. This track was just a song I needed to get out about my life to let everyone supporting the Strange Music camp know who and what I am about. I try and bring the best shit outta any track, beat with my lyrics that I can on ANY track I do. If a song here and there is compared to another artist thats just how shit is.... I will continue to stay true to myself and my fans when releasing music. Thanks again....and ANYONE that aint on my site YET..... sign up TODAY and holla at ya boy!
