Permalink Reply by Austin Smith on February 6, 2013 at 2:59am *******SPOILER ALERT************* DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE READ THE ALBUM..........
Smoked 3 blunts through the CD the whole car, agreed. Could of had a better ending that killing him self because of being delusional........ CHS had better "RAP" songs........ but as a a hole I cant be disappointed (though how much I feel I should be) Because the shock factor besides the same old (Nigga nuts n guts.... line or the creeping in my house and what not)
Works for some people. I think Lynch needs to do a non horror core ablum. like I said I dig the music, They should of kept the girl with the British accent in the story line because without her It doesnt make much sense, She made on apperance and you could almost tell It was taken out of CHS just like when F.D the D.E says "MEANWHILE" but over all from DAAM-Man Its a good listen.
CHS>DAAM&MANN. but Its to soon to decided DAAM over MANN yet.
Permalink Reply by Charles Weis on February 6, 2013 at 8:54am Didn't think about it until now but do you think Lynch killed his therapist/girlfriend at the end of CHS ("Like I said, no witnesses bitch!") and maybe that's why she didn't appear in this album? Just a thought.

Permalink Reply by Austin Smith on February 6, 2013 at 2:19pm I Dont remeber Lynch killing her at the end of CHS. I just want him to go on to the site sit down with us and drop us some knowledge on why he went with that kind of ending... I really wanted to see the killer get away with it all

Lemme start by saying I enjoyed a lot of Dinner and a Movie. It was never something I bumped regularly, but I could dig the album. Then Coathanga Strangla came out and while there were a few standout tracks, most of the album blurred together as Lynch was saying pretty much the same thing on every song (most of it having already been heard on the first album). The only difference was I felt the production was less diverse than that of Dinner and a Movie. Now after hearing Mannibalector (not a thorough listen but good enough) I feel the same way I felt about Coathanga Strangla. Lynch is generally saying the same exact shit he's been saying for two albums. Not only is the general subject matter the same, but I've heard Lynch refer to himself as Jason/Michael and the phrase "niggas nuts and guts" repeatedly over the course of three albums. There's also more reference to pedophilia on this album, soooo yeah. Take that however you want. There doesn't seem to be a point or serious direction in not all, but many of the songs, aside from Lynch rambling about killing/raping/eating random men/women/children. But I will say the production is top notch. Rob Rebeck and especially Seven are very good at adding an ominous and theatrical or "epic" feeling to their music. And there are a few standout tracks, but not many. And I've never sensed or recognized any sort of story throughout any of these albums, so I'll just remain lost on that. Overall I feel this particular style Lynch is fucking with was cool for one album, but it's really gotten old. I know it's supposed to be unreasonably grotesque and disturbing, but killing/raping/eating kids was just a little too far for me. I don't even have kids, it's just too much for me.
Ok, rant over.
Permalink Reply by Austin Smith on February 6, 2013 at 3:02pm I agree with most of this... But DAAM-CHS did have an actual story. Or maybe I just made one up for it..... But at the beginning of DAAM he is talking to the police officers... its him retelling this/his whole story.... They should of connected that back around to Mann....

Permalink Reply by Austin Smith on February 6, 2013 at 6:43pm I retake my statement back the album makes alot of sense
When Kali says "Traaaav! no i dont think hes really a serial killer"
or in Mann. when him and his friend are arguing if the dead body is really dead"
"the cops, the theopist, his skit friends, all are dead bodies in his house and he is delusional
